With microphones, sound mixing does most of this, not the individual singers. They all have ear plugs in so they have no idea how loud each other is. Her part is an accompanying harmonic part except when she sings lead, so of course it blends.

The power and beauty of Freya's voice 2:14 onwards as she takes the lead to show hope for the future and next generation. Voice on an angel! Slow building up before. But she lets Bastille take his parts, lead and projection. Then releases lead back. Such voice control. She could have swamped Bastille. Beautiful duet.
