Thank you so much for this video. I started my Dear Jane about 3 years ago, worked on it for a while. Completed Row A and B, started row C, then life happened. Life became very busy and hectic so I put my Dear Jane is a container. It's been pack away for about a year. Prior to packing away the Paper Pieces I had glues the whole row C pieces to the fabric and left them until I recently started working on my pieces. Now, I'm having a hard time getting the paper pieces off of the fabric, they are stuck in place. I just finished ripping out C2 from the row I had stitched together because when I was trying to get the paper pieces out I poked right through the fabric, so now, I have a whole in the fabric. I am so so dishearted over having to rip out a whole block from the little bit I do have completed. Off I go to Michael's or somewhere to purchase a sewline glue pen and some refills. Your instruction on how to glue baste my piece is very healful. I almost sat here and cried when the tool I used, which was my own stupid fault because I was using a tiny pair of scissors, yep! dumb me. I should have known better. I thing I'll get one of those purple thangs while I'm out shopping. Wish I would have watched this video before hand. Thanks again for such an informative video. You're the best!! ! ! ! !

These are excellent tips, thank you. I had trouble with the purple Elmer’s. I iron them to set the glue & the purple Elmer’s discolored my light fabric.

I would not recommend ironing the glue. It is a temporary glue by design, and if you need help releasing it, then mist it with a spray bottle since it is water soluble. The purple Elmers is a bit harsh on color for light fabrics - I agree.

Keep your SewLine glue stick in the fridge between uses, I put it in the butter compartment! More easy to apply, don’t loose colour and don’t make glob!

If you store your glue in the refrigerator when not in use, it won't dry out as fast....
