because its easy to stop shooting genji deflect and they tried a few other counters but they just had better teamplay

Genji isnt a counter unless the bastion just keeps on shooting. It's the same for sigma. The better counter would be dva, but as for sigma the bastion can simply... not shoot them. A counter is more of something you cna exploit against certain characters to shut down their interactions. Mainly ana on hog or ram on rein. But as annoying counters may seem in ladder even up to GM, they're practically meaningless in skrims or with stacked teams. The reason OWL players are playing a whole different game than ladder is because team synergy and communication easily beats any counters. Counters are looked at as different/odd strats to confuse the enemies, and although it works, you can win regardless of counters if you just "play better", ie better communications and cooldown value.

@@sterben5590i personally think genji still plays pretty well into bastion regardless of deflect, bastions gigantic hitbox makes it pretty easy to alt fires and his mobility makes him tough to shoot at close range even for someone like bastionmain who has pretty good aim obviously. but you are right good bastions will just… stop shooting the genji/jsigma/doom whatever it is

@@elijahknott588 tracking a genji after a jump kinda becomes practice in qp wih every insta lock genji. But even then that's not my worry if I go bastion into genji, since like you said my hitbox is a problem. But even then I'm not sweating too much because genji isnt the "counter". The best person to fake advantage of his hitbox would be tracer, and even thought a stick wont kill bastion in turret form, he can still get low or stick after a config

Turret Form: Lasts 6 seconds, deals Genji's entire HP bar in less than 2 seconds, can focus anyone on a team. Deflect: Lasts 2 seconds and can't be used again for 8, on a hero with a tiny hitbox, can't attack.
