My name is Krzysztof “Derph” Drabikowski. Most of You know me by the moniker Христофоръ, the leader and creator of the musical project Batushka. I am recording this video because I have lost control over Batushka’s website, Facebook page, webstore and as of Tuesday, even the Instagram account. This is the only way I can tell You what is happening and how my former vocalist is trying to take the band away from me. I created Batushka in the spring of 2015. I am the author of the music, lyrics, the name, the painting that you know from the album cover and the overall monk image idea. I have made the musical arrangements, wrote the melodies and recorded most of the instruments on the Litourgiya album in my private home studio. Before the finishing touches I invited Bartłomiej Krysiuk to do the vocals according to my guidelines, and Marcin Bielemiuk to re-record my drums parts on acoustic percussion. Batushka was meant to be an anonymous musical project, and from the beginning the idea was to keep the line-up unknown to the public so that the listeners could focus their attention on the musical experience itself. The album, released by Krysiuk’s underground label, became a hit. The demand for live shows from all over the world was enormous. So, I decided to, with the help of my friends, bring Batushka's music on to the live stage. During the past two years I have written and recorded the material for the second Batushka album, and Krysiuk pressed me to release it as soon as possible. As I wasn't satisfied with the results yet, I postponed the release of the follower of Litourgiya which followed with Krysiuk declaring he is leaving the band. On the Friday of the 21st of December I learned that Krysiuk hired musicians to produce an album that he planned to release as the new Batushka record, behind my back! He also registered Batushka as his personal trademark. Before I managed to do anything, he cut off my access to all Batushka's media platforms, and tries to enforce some kind of censorship on all media interested in the band situation. In response I have taken legal action and have been advised by my lawyer to not say anything further. All the new pictures you see on the website and Facebook page are of Krysiuk and random people like his son pretending to be Batushka. Every upcoming festival claiming to have Batushka in their line-up has made a deal with Krysiuk and not me. I would like to kindly ask You to copy and share this message wherever You can. Let the truth be heard.
As of now the only true Batushka will be that without Krysiuk behind the mic.

The Polish court in the first instance came to a verdict that Krzysztof Drabikowski is the owner of Batushka and Батюшка name and trademark, and Krysiuk cannot publish anything under these labels without the consent of Derph. Now we're waiting for the second instance of court for a verdict, because after the first instance is right now legally invalid. Jesus Christ, of all bands why does it have to be Batushka that gets thrown into this kind of situation? I found Litourgiya I think a year ago and it was life changing. I don't like how so many black metal bands try so hard to be hardcore and shit. They focus too much on the image and not the music. Still no justification or motivation to be a greedy asshole and steal a legacy that you can't even keep up to, as the recent teaser material by BARTushka clearly shows. With his actions Krysiuk deserves to be erased from the legacy of this band only to be remembered as a joke in history.

Years later, I, and, I hope other real Batushka fans, still stand by your side. I didn't even listen to any fake batushka material and I don't want to, just out of respect towards the art and its' creator. It may be good and entertaining, but this is something that goes completely against my personal principles. And we still wait for the new music. I just saw "Batushka" in Seattle last friday. Never listened at all before, but was blown away by songs i'd come to recognize by listening to Liturgiya all this weekend. As per usual with me liking a new band I have to learn about them. I cannot BELIEVE I gave Bart money after this situation and wish I had known sooner. They were selling signed picture frames for $150! If I could go back in time, I'd grab them off the wall and wipe my ass with them because that's what band thieves deserve! To pierwszy raz, kiedy widzę kto stoi za Batushka. Hospodi as a whole is severely lacking some absolutely fundamental and important things, and Панихида and the first album make it glaringly obvious what, and who that is. Even the album art on Hospodi lacks that genuine medieval liturgical art feeling, that you capture. Hospodi has some great elements, and those great elements are blatantly direct emulations of you and your work; so consequentially outside of those things, the album listens like a cheap knock-off and is painfully generic at times. I look forward to hearing more of the real Bathushka, and hope still that you can regain control. The truth is obvious and the fans are behind you.

I trust you. Just don't let that shameless person get to you, he put a mark of shame on himself willingly. Your creative contribution to the world already made an impact and it came from your power, it cannot go away, that guy has 0 claim to that power even though he may revel in it's fruits, he will find the fruits rotten. It's good that you did this, truth above all else. I am a great fan of modern black metal, and batushka sure has a special place in my book, just don't let that make you give up in your creative pursuits, make it into a fuel and view it as a game you already won but are now having more fun.

I have seen Batushka live in 2016 at Motocultor Festival and "Batushka" in 2022 at the same festival. The difference is stunningly shocking, the current thing is far below the original one in terms of creativity, qualitu of sound, scenic atmosphere... I'm sad the situation hasn't evolved 4 years later.

You saw the same band in 2016 and 2022 Krzysztof, original chorister and original vocalist (pre-bart), even the last drummer from litourgiya era played in Motocultor last year.
