That bass reed is just amazing, an incredible musical tumult for sure, also I love the sound of the en chamades blaring their heraldic voice into the vast cathedral, now put the chamades and the bass reeds together for a chord and the result is nothing short of of explosive musical power.

A work full of constant harmonic movements, from the glorious fanfare to call the Portuguese infantry to threading, the guns and soldiers running in fast melodic phrasing in an intense struggle that develops according narrates this just iberica. The campaign trumpets drums resonate with bombards them producing the guns and the work is divided into 8 sections as sharp and clear most notably in which is written the passages of a military strategy of high level of construction and organization.

I used to go to Mexico City on business and stopped by for a couple of concerts. Yes, the organs are out of tune but still awe inspiring. Many leave their seats in the Nave to stand next to the Spanish Trumpets (chamade) and base reeds to get the up close, shaky, rattling experience! Considering the organs were built 400-500 years ago, they are amazing. I’m not sure how rich this Cathedral is but they are spending a large part of their budget on trying to stop the Cathedral from sinking!

Translation of the Spanish introduction above (Google Translate!): The intense organ activity that took place in the north of Portugal during the 17th century is certified by two important manuscripts that had been preserved to this day: 964 manuscript archives of the district and the manuscript library of 43 municipal port. The latter, also known as the Book of CONCEIÇÃO, by FREI ROQUE DA CONCEIÇÃO, contains only three better-known works by FREI DIOGO de CONCEIÇÃO. A system of lines, the inscription and a medium battle. The lines were relatively short triad parts to be performed with sung verses. Composition of the imitative polyphonic and media register are a type of performance in which the composers of the seventeenth century, exploring a typical feature of the Iberian School in split keyboard. Indeed, the peninsular organs of this time, the keyboard is divided between soft and strong registers, each one corresponding to half of an independent system of registers, which prohibited not only the coexistence of two different timbres on one keyboard. In FREI DIOGO de CONCEIÇÃO's mid-second tone register, the upper voice develops in the bright high-noise region, while the three lower voices start up in the lower region of the keyboard with a more subdued count.
