In this video, I do a little jalan jalan in Batam, Indonesia. First, I check out Martabak Har, the same place I ate at in Palembang. After a delicious meal, I stroll through the Pasar area.

Joseph is biblical name, Yusuf is quranic name, Joseph and Yusuf refer to same prophet. Same applies to Samuel / Ismail, Aaron / Harun, Moses / Musa, Abraham / Ibrahim, Mary / Maryam, Rebecca / Ribka, David / Daud, Jones / Yunus, etc. These are a very common names in Indonesia, either someone is a christian or a muslim, they use those names, however a christian more of using the “internationally known” version of those names, like Moses or Samuel, and a muslim refers to how it is pronounced in Arabic, like Musa or Ismail.

Hey Nick, am pretty sure the Martabak HAR you visited in Batam has no direct connection to those in Palembang. They're probably just re-using the same familiar name. I was born and grew up in Palembang and those Martabak HAR shops have been there for decades. HAR stands for Haji Abdul Rozak, the guy who started it, supposedly in 1947. The most common dish is the egg martabak and as you discovered in Palembang, not all shops offer the roti canai that you like.

Wahhh...roti prata. My favourite. I would order 5 pcs when eating at the restaurant and 10 pcs when consume at home. Right next to that restaurant is a music instrument shop. I believe they have 3 levels and filled with various musical equipment. When you exit the restaurant, on the right, just a few distance, is the Go Massage. On the left further down is the Planet Hollywood Hotel. I stayed there during my Batam trip. Enjoy your stay there Nick....cheers.

For many years, Batam is a place that Singaporeans n Malaysians generally perceived as an alternative quick getaway to get cheaper products n services. It also has an ill-reputation for men seeking pleasure in Batam, just like Malaysian men do when they cross over to southern Thailand. hi Nick, the place that you came after a second-hand clothing shop is a Morning Market, so thats why when u came it looks like 'war zone' If you visit Batam again, you should go to the city because there is a lot to do there.
