I really think that if a property is empty for more than five ,ten years ,and no relatives can be found ,the government should be aloud to take them over .They could preserve the antiques ,and perhaps sell the paintings ,and give any profit to charity .It is so sad to see someone's life work to go to waste .

I’ve thought the same thing about a lot of the abandoned homes. I really wish they could find a use/purpose for these beautiful places.
All of the beautiful artwork in the attic . Such a shame it won’t be preserved

The artist was there while you were exploring. I think the toy was his way of telling you that he appreciates the visit and the interest you show in his art and talent. This way he is not forgotten. Either that or some animal hit the button and it went off. I prefer to think it was his way of communicating with you. You do important work and maybe someone will connect with you to save this place from further decay. It's a museum.

Oh Dave read please. This just got exciting in the end😉 The painting of the boy w/candle if you were an artist would know it's amazing to see someone else paint it. The original artist was Pier Germani, the Italian artist. Germani was famous for his children paintings. The trouble painting , the one on the left is Rembrandt, the center possibly the father after he passed as the blackened eyes represents absence. The painting on the right is one that helped make Brandon Soloff the famous New York artist, famous. Well, along with his nudes as well. Most amazing artist! So maybe Soloff an this artist were friends.. wait! The photo of the owner and another together actually looks like Soloff! Soloff is also based in Lyon, France as well as NY. Oh it's a connection! So tell me if this all sounds like I've solved a bit of a mystery? And if you go back into history you'll find there are connections to this artist having a family tree of artists. Sweet!

People who don’t live according to society’s rules, I find very interesting. As long as they harm no one, why shouldn’t they live the way they choose. This was an amazing exploration- your videos are fantastic! Thanks a bunch for bringing me along! 😊❤ Oh- as far as rumors, they say there’s only a small part of rumors that are true. But don’t they make such interesting intriguing stories! 😉😊 The attic - all those drawings and paintings, those came from his mind! I would’ve loved to sat and talked with him for an hour or two. 🙃

THIS is why your youtube work is so important. These people die...and in some cases, like this one, they can be dead for months, or even years, and they don't even have a soul checking on them. YOU bring their story back to life...even if only for a little bit. They were people...they mattered. And I love how respectful you are as you tell the story of their life through your video. Because without somebody's words-there is no story. And then it feels so pointless....so thank you for what you are doing. I think it is SO important.

My late mother was a single mom, a struggling artist and raised me an only child the best she could. She told me once that your never noticed until your gone. I have one picture she painted of a horse that my grandmother gave me before she died. There is a picture my mother painted of Indian's on the Pascagoula river in town hall in Moss point, Ms. That she ONLY was paid $200.00 for in 1974. So yes.. I always believed her.😊❤️🐇

As an artist myself his abstract work looked phenomenally good and should be saved..I wonder if there is some way of finding the nearest town or village to this location you visited and contacting the mayor or council to tell them of this wonderful collection of work..I am sure it would not be too difficult to do..just an idea.

I’ve seen this lovely house before... how heartbreaking to end your life and nobody wants to save your art, your old home, everything that mattered to you! 🥺 The handwritten book you showed has several entries starting with “chers parents”... “dear parents”, followed by descriptions of what little things he did that day: it looks like the kind of letters kids in boarding school would write to their parents. 😕

this story is similar to the famous Bates Hotel movie, he too was obsessed with his mother. You said you didnt want to give away the address of this place for fear it would get trashed... i think its a bit too late for that. looks like a lot of explorers or just curious have been there trashing and looking for something of value. this guy sure loved painting. Its not to my taste, but plenty of others would love his work. thanks for showing us another great explore, in France.

Great explore Dave, this place has a lot to say about the electic lifestyle he lived with his parents. It is too bad that no one will or can save the paintings there. They could sell all the paintings and use that to fund the restoration of the building itself. It would take a while but would be worth it in the end. Have a great day.

I’ve watched videos much like this where the person was an artist. None like this one. He surrounded himself with his work more than he sold it from the feel. It’s like a peek into his psyche. He was definitely a medium mutt as I call it. Meaning he creates art from everything and puts his heart into his creations. (Like I do) To a certain extent, I think when I pass away, my surroundings will probably be like this. I loved your walk through but wanted you to linger a bit more in certain areas lol. Well done and the happiest of birthday to you. Have a virtual round on me!! 🍸🥃🍹🍻🧉🥂🍷🍺🍾🫖

Hi Dave, been a while since I've been here! A very interesting house! It does put me in mind of Norman Bates. The Psycho book and the movie! Woof! It's also such a reminder that life is short...and it seems so pointless if we are just here for this blip in time and then that's it. I like the idea that we come back again and again, and those that we love and care about do, too....that there is some point to all of this. When you see the cemeteries full of people that were once vibrant, living souls and consider that they are just gone forever - i don't know - i hate it. Maybe it's why the idea that we continue after this is what I hope the most for. It's a huge lesson in the ridiculousness of having "things" and accruing riches and things we can't take with us. Relationships, love, etc is what I believe matters most....love each other because you can't take it with you.
