UPDATE: I interviewed for an Installer position in early January. I think they are looking for people younger than I am, ( 56 ) Although age didnt come up in the interview, my experience in construction and painting didn't either which seemed to indicate they were looking for a more youthful labor force. Also, if you are considering applying for an installer position with these guys and you have tons of construction experience, you may want to refrain from exposing too much of what you know.You don't want to run the risk of sounding cocky. My take away from my interview was that experience is no substitution for being really good at job interviews, That is, if your not too old to be a good fit.

This guy is really great. Wish I could find 10 just like him. I have a few friends. That have used bath fitters. They ended up costing around $8000 in the GTA. I could build a pretty nice custom shower for 8g's.

@@bathfitterinlandnw I appreciate your reply. But as a general contractor I was being sincere when I said that for the cost of a Bath Fitter installation I could provide, a much better product. Better suited to the clients individual personal tastes, and superior in terms of long term performance. Having also had the opportunity to demolish bath fitter products in the past, some as young as 2 years old, I am confident that it is not a product or service I could with any confidence recommend to any of my current client base. My comment was mostly directed at whom I can only assume is an employee, who is obviously talented and hard working. Although I would have asked him to take the NickNacks off the wall cabinet to reduce risk of damage, or getting dirty. Thanks again.

As a custom builder I recommend, and use other vendors regularly to ensure my clients get a product that as close to their vision as I possibly can, while ensuring they will have a result that will last for years to come, adding value to their homes. I just wouldn't use your company.

He put in a brand new shower base and then put nothing down to protect it. You can see in video all his tools and toolbox directly sitting on the new base. He is also walking on new base with shoes. If I'm paying 8000 dollars, I don't want my brand new shower base filled with scratches from the workman.

Hi Nicholas, I'm not even sure what job this was, to be quite honest. It was years ago and I didn't make a note for reference. As you said, every job is different but I can say an average job isn't going to be like $1,000, but it's not going to be $10,000, either. I know that's a huge ballpark but sometimes people don't know at all what the range is. Hopefully, that helps a little.

Is it possible to have the tub surround extend onto the ceiling too? I have low ceilings at 7ft in my bathroom and I hate dealing with moisture getting on the ceiling bc of it's low height. Was wondering if it's possible to have the whole shower area enclosed with the acrylic

What type of caulk do you use? I tried 2 different types of caulking and flex seal and none of them stuck to my acrylic Bath fitter panels very well.

Hi Dan, we use a sealant that we actually produce ourselves. I wish I could be more help in suggesting one you could buy over the counter. Hi David! A common misconception about Bath Fitter is that we only go over existing walls or bathtubs/ showers. This is not the case. We can also replace a tub or shower completely, as well as the walls and sub flooring, when necessary.!
