Ideally you want to hit your top speed around 75-80% of the way down the longest straight on the circuit. Bearing in mind up to roughly the last 10% of the straight may be braking zone; the extra 3 or 4 mph gained right at the end of the straight from a longer ratio isn't worth the slight penalty in acceleration to get there, especially around the rest of the circuit.
@squidlips10446 жыл бұрын
Yea i would say so. That shallow entry cause of the kit car and having to get out of the gas on corner exit was easily .4 to .5 off optimal
@Jehco146 жыл бұрын
The car is homologated with fixed gear ratios anyway. The only way to reach 300 kph would be to have larger wheels. I don't know what tyres it was and how good those were, but stick some Super GT-style confidential tyres, those with the larger diameter if possible, and you'll shave off another 3-4 seconds easily if this laptime was made on "customer" tyres (Pirelli DHD2 I would suppose).
@HipsterNgariman6 жыл бұрын
@@Jehco14 If you want better top speed you'd want thinner tires because they create less drag/friction with the asphalt. Unrelated, but it is also why road cars have thin tires ; it's cheaper, more agile and more efficient.
