The late Adam West had said that Cesar Romero was beloved by the cast and crew of Batman. Mr. Romero would sit in his stage chair and snooze and when called to do his scenes would do them perfectly without any need for retakes. In addition, he had a special concern for the cast/crew who had to do some of the more dangerous stunts and was always asking if they were doing alright

The point is the Joker never wants to know who Batman really is. Joker has had many, many, many opportunities to unmask him, and even when he figures out who Batman is in Batman stories, which he has, he always makes himself forget on purpose or ignores it entirely because to him, that's boring. He only cares about making Batman suffer AS Batman. Same goes for Robin.

The thing that has always stood out for me about Cesar Romero (and all the other villains on the show) is that you can tell the actors were having SO MUCH FUN doing the part. Yeah, they overact, but they’re clearly having the time of their lives doing it-the bad puns, the ridiculous alliteration, the silly plots…I imagine it must have been a blast to be on the set. There’s a sweetness to that: people having fun doing what they love. I think that’s what we all aspire to. :)

Victor Buono got to quite a few King Tut episodes because it allowed him to overact something he really enjoyed doing, and yeah Gorshin's Riddler was also something to remember, though I can't fault the man given I don't know how much anyone was paid, but I do wonder how much Gorshin was being paid if he thought he could hold out for more money season 2...(which he didn't get given they had a similar villain called the Puzzler for one episode and John Astin be the Riddler for another...) and of course even when Gorshin did come back for season 3...yeah kinda too late by then lol

The Gospel, which means the Good News is the news that God Almighty, the Creator came in the flesh as Jesus Christ to take away the sin of the world. The one God is a trinity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Son came and laid down his own life to save ours. His sacrifice on the cross paid the price for our redemption with his own blood. On the third day he rose from dead and offers the gift of salvation and forgiveness to those that repent and trust in him. John 1:1,14 KJV In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and THE WORD WAS GOD. [14] And THE WORD WAS MADE FLESH, and dwelt among us, 1 John 3:8 KJV He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Isaiah 9:6 KJV For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty GOD, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. John 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and THE WORLD KNEW HIM NOT. John 3:18 KJV He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Yeah. A good Joker needs this lovable funness in spite of what he does. Occasionally, the heavier material of him wanting to break Batman to prove an absurdist philosophy point about morality and meaning can be good, however it should only be used sparingly. Just because that aspect from The Killing Joke and Ledger Joker is so popular doesn't mean it should be overused. Likewise having him do really heinous stuff all the time is detrimental. It's boring, and flanderises the character. For me, I think bronze age Joker has the correct balance. A Death in the Family is the turning point of making escalation of evil the point, which is a bad idea long term as there's only so far you can go with that. The Killing Joke also contributed to this, although I do like it as a one shot code on the Batman and Joker dynamic. Would I want ever story like that? No, but as a one off it works (this is why in some ways I'd rather it not be in canon continuation as I think that messes up the reflective aspect of TKJ if it's just another story).

@@MidnightIsolde You sum up my thoughts quite well. It's good to explore those darker philosophical questions every now and then, but it's important not to bend it too far in that direction. And I do believe Alan Moore wrote Killing Joke with the idea in mind that it would be "non-canon." He liked exploring darker themes with superheros, but he seems to also understand there's a certain point you don't want to cross, and he even criticizes the gratuitously dark stuff in works like Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?

Comicbook Joker's face is not makeupped, it's chemically bleached, but it makes sense to portray him has weareing makeup in live action, so there's already a necessary artistic license to how he looks in movies. Besides, modern Joker cut his own face off. If the character himself is willing to devalue the identity of his own face so far as to literally remove it, I suppose we can't care too much about how it is portrayed.
