He was certainly awesome. However... ...that's not what he said. He never said he didn't knew Joker's origin. What he said was "I'm not a great student of the Batman comics". As in "I'm no expert in Batman's comics". He must have known something about The Joker and done a minimum research bc he needed material to create the character so it's actually no surprise that he knew something about his origin.

@@bustermorley8318 There is an ancient Gnostic belief (Cathar, to be exact) that if you revealed that the devil is actually the ego (and it is) that it would come for you. nonsense...actors back then were doing many of the same things actors do today...use drugs, cheating on their spouse, marrying and remarrying, DUIs and other legal infractions, etc, etc. Look it up. If actors have less class today its because the larger society has less class. Ask Donald Trump if you don't believe it. You can't expect actors to be any different than the society they come from and live in. If Romero was in Hollywood today, he'd be a product of today's society. That's how it works. That’s a wonderful story! Seems surreal to imagine. Classic Caddy, Joker driving, speaking Español!

@@Survivor-ng4te yea. He was Cuban. And going off my name tag he would call me “señor Garcia”. 😌

Really, he spoke Spanish? I know he has a Hispanic name but I would have never guessed he spoke Spanish from his absolutely perfect English. I'm impressed.

Such an underrated Joker. People say Mark Hamill started the Joker laugh but that really started with Cesar Romero.

Classic character! Cesar was by far the best “Joker” and perhaps the most popular villain on the show.

The only Joker, Cesar Romero.

Another actor that said it's more fun to play the villain in a movie/tv series, since it gives more freedom to do whatever the actor/actress wants.

Great interview from a woman who socially knew Romero since she was a teenager. She had tremendous insight into his life and career. Nice tidbit that her sister married John Steinbeck. Impressive.

Really impressed that he knew the reason for the green hair even tho he was not a 'student' of the comic. So neat.

He may not have been an avid comic reader, but he still wanted to know enough about the particular comic character he was playing.

What a great interview and awesome Mr. Romero! True class back then. Something so sorely missing today :(

Amazing that he would know of the Joker's relatively obscure origin, especially in this day and age when people held comic books with so little regard. Props to you, Mr. Romero.

While i have to disagree i am under the impression that he gets way too few credit for his interpretation. He was pretty good and you see alot of his manierism in the Batman animated show from the 90s when Hamil did Joker. Romero has class and charisma and would've been a great Joker in Burtons Batman, even if Nicholson did a remarkable job.
