Thank God it came before the hay day of early videotape! Compare this to “All In The Family” which came five years later. The latter is murky and I suspect “Batman” was produced more like a movie and AITF more like a newscast.

Burgess Merideth had said he had quit smoking many years before he did Batman. However to do the role he wouldn't inhale from the cigarette holder but the smoke still irritated his throat and it would cause him to make a "quaking" sound.

Really? That is why I came here, to find out why he “quacks” because penguins don’t “quack” do they? I saw the show in reruns in the 70s and I just remember “Pengy” always quacking. I thought he was a duck! Forgive me I was 6 years old!
