The Penguin steals the Batmobile!

Several villains in the 1966 Batman TV series had the nerve to steal the Batmobile, the Riddler, Bookworm, Catwoman, King Tut, and the Sandman. The Mad Hatter tried but was foiled by the Anti-Theft Device, but only the Penguin had the gall to steal it and re-brand and rename it the "Birdmobile" (he also called it a black vulture!) Here are the scenes from "The Penguin Goes Straight" with a great chase scene with remote Batmobile controls on the 1966 Batcycle. (Adam West, Burt Ward, & Burgess Meredith)

I love how penguin doesn't try to destroy the batmobile, it was like he genuinely wanted to take the batmobile for a little spin and would eventually ditch it for something elce.

Great entertainment for kids, which I was one of them when the series first aired. And was meant to be silly, so why do some claim Adam West as the only Batman? Before the tv show, Batman was created as a serious crime fighter. Which was attained with Christain Bale, Micheal Keaton. The first serial tv show, there was a plain auto used as the Batmobile, as if it was bought off a dealer.

@Donald Wagner - Well, Burgess Meredith WAS the best actor in having played "The Penguin" along with his roles on the original "Twilight Zone" TV series as well as being "Mickey," "Rocky Balboa's" trainer and mentor, too. By the way, he passed away many years ago.

Siempre diré que desilusión fue cuando supe después de adulto,que el Batimóvil lo accionaba un motor a 8 cilindros de gran poder y aceleración vs un motor de Turbina que verdaderamente existió para esa época pero que para una verdadera realidad práctica de movimiento en el rodaje de esta icónica serie de TV,me imagino que representaba un gasto adicional de combustible y mantenimiento mecánico al ser turbina vs un motor a gasolina donde las prestaciones de manejo eran más sencillas de manejar, pero ese sonido de turbina tanto en el Batimóvil cómo en la Batimotora nos hizo pensar que atractivo era tener un motor de Turbina, haciéndonos creer que todos los autos de esa época de los 60 eran a Turbina por qué veíamos que el Batimovil tenía uno y cuan rápido se movía,pues que mejor tener tu propio auto con un motor a Turbina,como en la série,hubiese Sido estupendo qué todo hubiese Sido verdad y que la tecnología de ese entonces hubiese probado a la humanidad que el motor de Turbina si tenía el aprecio del consumidor y las generaciones siguientes de vehículos de motor fuese a Turbina pero más lejos de la realidad porque la tecnología de motor a combustión interna de pistón sobre el de Turbina lo hizo ceder, lamentable.........

Cars back then rode real soft, you didn't feel any of the bumps. Remember the Batmobile was built as a 1955 Lincoln Futura concept car. Lincolns always rode real smooth.
