Oh sweet I love the DCAU and all things DC, especially anything Batman related! TAS Batman and Justice League and Justice League Unlimted are absolutely amazing and I was crushed when I thought the DCAU ended but hopefully this Batman and Harley Quinn movie, as wacky as it was, means that maybe someday we'll get more DCAU movies or a full continuation of Justice Leauge!!!! I actually really thought that this movie takes place few years after Joker's death. That would explain many things, including Harley's life changing that much, her voice change (being older), Dick's different look, even Batman's different suit (being just changes caused by different things happening in meantime), even all the changes inside JL, and Ivy being even more green than before (cause of further pigment mutation I guess?). I just assumed that what Barbara says about her body not being found was a plot hole, or maybe something that Barbara didn't know about or couldn't speak about... because reasons.

While I want to agree, it kind of begs the question of how Nightwing and Batman could forgive her for being complicit in Joker's abuse of Tim, which I think is something that deserves looking at. I want to believe that she regrets it and genuinely hates that she did that to a child, considering she went on to have family of her own. Maybe that regret was what set her on the path to going straight.

Ummmm guys here's an idea what if certain things from the DCAU are part of an alternate timeline caused by all the Timetravel that happened in the DCAU: -Once in Superman TAS -Once in Gotham Girls -Twice in Static Shock -Twice in JL -Three times in JLU 9 different Timetravel events Maybe the timeline has been re-written a couple of times. After all Braniac's back story in "New Kids in Town" kinda conflicts with a few episodes of JL

If you're referring to how Brainiac "dies for certain" in JL/JLU, I'd argue there can definitely be drones of his circling the galaxy elsewhere. Overall, you're right: the timeline has been messed with several times, but there's still cohesive enough of a thread to connect all the dots if needed. A lot of people tend to act like there's no need to make everything fit, but to that we say: there's no need to not.

Not exactly I might remeber this wrong but didn't the Legion of Superheroes say something "Last time you fought Braniac" as they showed the previous (and last) time Superman fought him, the way they said was as if it was the last time Superman saw Braniac, even though further in the future Superman and the JLU had to fight him a few times

Just watched the clip. What we see of Brainiac during that quote is not from any specific episode. It does look similar to Lex's lab in "Ghost in the Machine," but it's not the same. "Brainiac managed to reassemble himself" is said over the top of that clip, which wouldn't work as being from "Ghost" anyway, as by that time it hadn't even been "years" since his previous STAS appearance. So long story short, this is just a moment from sometime between JLU and 2079.

While watching the movie I actually assumed it takes place after the Return of the Joker flashback. Evidence: *Harley hasn’t been active as Harley Quinn and hasn’t been with the Joker for quite some time. *Batman is working with Nightwing instead of Robin (or even Batgirl), who typically works solo in his own city. Why would he partner with Nightwing unless Robin had already been “turned” and Batgirl had been banished from the Batcave because Bruce feared having something similar befall her? Nightwing, being a solo agent, would be the only other one left for Batman to trust (well I suppose there’s still Batwoman....) *The bit about never having found Harley’s body came from Barbara Gordon, who by this point Bruce was likely intentionally shielding from information that he was working with Harley, or even that Harley survived. He either didn’t want her to become involved with his work anymore, or he feared that Barbara might seek revenge for what she helped Joker do to Tim. Batman might have sought to obscure any evidence that Harley still lived (perhaps through ARGUS or something outside the usual prison system) given the way he had to compromise his morals to cover up Joker’s death. *Batman does seem to believe Harley has some redeemable qualities despite her history. This has been shown in several episodes, and suggests he might even be able to see Harley as another of Joker’s victims, and thus not personally blame her for Tim’s fate. *The creators likely expected the audience would have already seen Return of the Joker by now, and given how long it’s been since that movie came out, this new one might well be assumed to take place after the flashback. *By placing the movie after the Return of the Joker flashback, it seems to allow for Harley to more or less reform following the events of the movie, which seems to be the fate that is being hinted at, rather than fall back in with Joker again and assist in the horrible torture of Tim, and then later seemingly become “good” as an old woman. The biggest counter evidence is that tv show segment at the end of the movie. There’s no way Barbara wouldn’t have been aware that Harley was alive if she were on tv. The answer to that problem is that the TV segment was somehow in her head. Consider that as we approached the end of the movie events became more and more “cornball” with Batman seemingly giving up and then he and Nightwing kissing Harley on the cheek as the bad guy flees after catching fire. It just doesn’t match with realistic behavior of the characters. So is it even what happened? Or is it how Harley perceives the events? We might be seeing her version of the end of that confrontation. And since we see no other outside characters in the TV show segment there’s no confirmation the show is real. It, too, could be in her head. It does after all seem unlikely a person with her history would be given a show. And imagine how Joker would respond to Harley getting so much attention on her own. If nothing else, that prospect would give Harley pause about going on tv if Joker were alive. (And if the show were even real). Oh I haven’t read any of the comics so they may well contradict my understanding of these events. But then, when have the comics ever been as canon as the show? (Please don’t answer that by the way.)

When former Batgirl (/Barbara Gordon) is said "I'd doubt she would be causing trouble now," wouldn't hint to her thinking Harley Quinn was deceased and/or missing (or simply not known in location by the former Bat Family, but rather hints to the fact of knowing she's alive, possibly because the fact is someone like Harley has gymnastic skills that could save, and her location and other things of a calm peaceful lifestyle after they kept an eye on her (when she was probably recovering to such a fall) and see she's turned in for what she did to Tim Drake as Robin.

In the new series, it makes me wonder besides operating with Batman (and maybe the Joker sometimes), if they'll put her with Task Force X in the series, or if that happens between episodes, or if they'll eventually get to ROTJ and explain what happened to her after that, but I get the feeling they never will.

To keep my brain from shortsercuting, I just tell myself each inconsistently is because "Oh, this story/show takes place in a separate timeline." Timelines where Harely never went back to Joker, timelines where Joker always had that horrible redesign from the start all the way to Return of the Joker (that's a really unfortunate timeline) and so on. You have mentioned in the easter egg video that it is likely that a.r.g.u.s. had been found after destroyers. Furthermore booster gold mentioned in the movie 3 hereos that have not appear yet, like black condor. I guess that they became hereos after destroyers. So in my timeline the movie takes place after destroyer and before mystery of the batwoman, as the comics are not canon. IMO

You can definitely look at it that way! In fact, we did all the way up until the movie and its comics came out. This is definitely an instance where the tie-in material was released WITH the movie and sanctioned by its producers, so it can’t be ignored. It’s essentially “more movie.” But movie alone, sure. Our ARGUS speculation was purely that, however: speculation. We hadn’t yet completed our timeline research. We have to simply accept that ARGUS existed behind-the-scenes during the final season of JLU.
