I haven't watched the video, but I'm going to jump in with my pro se opinion... No!!! I grew up on the best intro to a cartoon ever and a live action stunt show at Six Flags... When Axis Chemicals exploded the heat would dry out your eyeballs. Teen Titans and TT Go! are way too goofy to come from the same universe. Anyway as actual proof I got bored one day and watched the teen Titans go movie as background noise. It's a multiverse movie and the actual DCAU Teen Titans show up in the exact BAS/TNBA style.

It's also a different Robin costume. In the DCAU Dick wears Tim's Robin costume: Red leotard over green tunic and, um, hose? (Dick's in the comics was a red tunic over a green leotard.) The show has a very different animation style, much more surreal. And there's the question of the Flash. Wally West, voiced by Michael Rosenbaum in both Teen Titans and Justice League/JLU. The Teen Titans stories are also lightened for the cartoon. (Brother Blood leads a cult in the comics; here, he's a very generic big bad. Oh, and Beast Boy kills Madame Rouge and General Zahl for what they did to the Doom Patrol; here, the Doom Patrol are all alive and well, rather than being retcon'd later.) Robin's age during this period in the comics is a mess. He turns 20 during Crisis on Infinite Earths, but he and Speedy have comics hinting at their age in the 70s. For instance, Speedy owns his own place during the famous heroin storyline, suggesting he's older than the other Teen Titans. Robin is...well...from 1972 to 1980 is two years in-universe. Enough for Batgirl to serve one term in Congress and then promptly be voted out. So he's 17, right? But he also starts college in 1969, and went to prom in 1965. And he has ties to the Justice League and the CBI (a CIA pastiche used mostly in Speedy and Danny Chase stories) when the Titans start. Whatever the case, I seriously doubt they could keep their TV-Y7 rating if they'd done Terror of Trigon exactly as it was in the comics: The Good People Have Good Sex trope is fully in play here, with a heartwarming afterglow in contrast to Wally's nightmarish vision of Raven; also we can assume Dick and Kory were at least 18 at the time, since George Perez said so.

Slade) didn't do that compared to the Timm-verse or the original TT/Titans comics. Heck, the moment in the "Teen Titans Go! vs. Teen Titans" movie where they meet the DCU animated movie counterparts ("TT vs. JL", "Judas Contract") speaks volumes. As to the continuity argument, many of the different shows ("Young Justice", "Beware the Batman") are treated as separate continuities.

In my mind, the biggest obstacle to fitting Teen Titans and Justice League into the same universe is Titans season four. When Raven fulfilled her destiny and Trigon was able to invade the Titans' world, there was no Doctor Fate, or Etrigan, or Deadman, or any other supernaturally-affiliated hero come to address the situation. Having Superman not show up when Slade takes over a city that had its own TV news broadcasts could be explained if he was off-world at the time. But for a Lord of Order or a high-caste demon of Hell to not be aware of Trigon's invasion... can only be explained by them being completely absent from this setting.

@Bauglir1003 жыл бұрын
If Teen Titans _was_ set in the DC Animated Universe, it would have to take place between Batman: The Animated Series and The New Batman Adventures. Here are the reasons. * There's no Justice League anywhere in the cartoon because they haven't been formed yet, and only Batman is mentioned, which could suggest Superman had not yet moved to Metropolis. * The Dick Grayson Robin had split off from Batman, but had not yet become Nightwing. * Wally West, who is voiced by his Justice League voice actor Michael Rosenbaum, appears in Teen Titans as Kid Flash, before he became the Flash. Whether or not this means that Barry Allen or even Jay Garrick already existed before is another story. * Mike Erwin's Speedy appears in Justice League Unlimited and uses the same design, but he is much older than how he's depicted in Teen Titans. * The Tim Drake Robin is said to be with the Titans in an episode of Static Shock. This would mean that it's no longer Dick Grayson's Teen Titans, the team that was in the cartoon, but a different team with different members since all the originals are now adults. The fact that Wally West and Speedy are both adults in Justice League/Justice League Unlimited proves this.

The only single first nation character I find not Sterotyped is Dawns tar.

I guess it might depend on where you grew up, but I had a graduation ceremony after completing junior high school (Grades 7 & 8). If he did so as well, then Robin could still be around 14 years old during the events of Go, and ages 15-18 throughout the rest of Teen Titans. This would make him and Kitten about the same age in Date with Destiny. She could even be a year or two older than him, even if she doesn't act like it.

@GiubileiFernando5 жыл бұрын
I think we can headcanon that a version of the events of Teen Titans happened in the DCAU, with changes where appropriate. Like Robin being older, Kid Flash being a young Wally and just called Flash, which would make sense with DCAU's Flash being portrayed as basically a teen or barely mature adult, etc.

Didn't the Teen Titans rent a DVD in one episode? You can handwave all the fictional tech all you want, but DVDs did not exist when BTAS was on, let alone before it.
@dcauwatchtower Жыл бұрын
Very true! BTAS was throwing around VHS tapes like nobody’s business.
@Bauglir100 Жыл бұрын
@@dcauwatchtower Yeah, but BTAS was deliberately inconsistent with its setting, with a mix of 1940s and modern architecture, aesthetics, and technology all over the place. It was like a mishmash of L.A. Noire and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas...with Batman characters. Also, there was an episode of The New Batman Adventures that had a science expo showing off DVDs, so it's possible that DVDs caught on sometime between BTAS and TNBA, which is when I think Teen Titans would have taken place.

Hal was probably a backup Lantern like Guy or Jon (in the comics). Not to mention Fatal Five Killowog looking like GLTAS Killowog, appearances aren't very reliable for making things canon though. Also Star Sapphire being a thing in both GLTAS and the DCAU.
@ethanmandengue38704 жыл бұрын
@@jeffrousseau4033 Well it has the same artstyle but other than that... we have no contradictions to the fact it maybe be in the same universe. It could be like it could be not.
@foldabotZ3 жыл бұрын
@@ethanmandengue3870 Most of the time it takes place in outer space, very far from Earth. It's still possible but one character is in the way of solidifying the connection: Carol Ferris AKA Star Sapphire. Star Sapphire debuted in the Justice League cartoon as part of Lex's, and later Aresia's, Injustice Gang, and then later as part of Grodd's new Secret Society(or Legion of Doom if you prefer). She was explicitly a villain and and was seemingly not a part of any Star Sapphire Corps(cuz the corps wouldn't exist in the comics until a year after JLU ended but then they can retcon it into the DCAU) but in GLTAS, Carol became Star Sapphire for the first time, meaning that would have to take place years before JL's Secret Origin. Hal Jordan was not yet a Green Lantern at that point, only John Stewart and Kyle Rayner were.

HEY, I'VE GOT SOME MORE POSSIBLE EVIDENCE In that episode in the last season where it shows the team's origin, we see in the space jail starfire in a few other prisoners, and they're just some other aliens we see later in the series... except for one. We see that weird collector alien from the Starro two-parter in Batman Beyond. And before anyone is like, "Well, that was Batman Beyond. How could he appear so far back," we see the collector encounter STAS-era Superman in the flashback in Batman Beyond, so it all lines up.

It could turn out that its actually Jason Todd and he just took up the name Dick Grayson he’s pretending to be dick grayson while dick grayson is in collage or when he quit as robin, that would explain why red x is kind of a redhood rip off and that Jason todd never shows up in BTAS and TNBA but Jason does exist in BTAS so this could be a possibility.

Also also, it's not in the same universe as The Batman (coming from someome who's seen the whole series) because of Killer Moth. For the sake of misinformation (though I agree re: everything Donna-related you said), Dwayne never confirmed anything about the Kid Flash costume or Jay helmet. He just tossed out possibilities: "It's not Jay's helmet, it belongs to Hermes. It's from an old Wally Flash costume. It's a trophy from a completely unrelated adventure and has nothing to do with any Flash costume whatsoever, et cetera... The only reason you think it's Jay's is because you know about Jay." Unless there's a different quote I've never seen before.
