The combat system in both these ARE INDEED revolutionary, since Arkham Asylum EVERY 3rd person action game has copied it or at least tried to, i remember in 2009 it literally blew everyone's minds because no other 3rd person action game had ever done it so well. The combat system on the Arkham Games is arguably it's biggest highlight.

Arkham Asylum - 10/10, amazing game that made me so excited for the rest of the series. Arkham City - 9.5/10, also amazing, it just took me a little bit longer for me to get into the story than it did for me to get into Arkham asylum's. Arkham Origins - 8/10, great game, it just lacked innovation and the story wasn't as up to par as the last two games. Arkham Knight - 10/10, a perfect game. I loved absolutely everything about it. My one complaint: the boss battles were pretty shitty (with the exception of The Riddler, and some others from the side quests).

+Waleed Khan its SOOO difficult for me to choose one over the other, I liked asylums atmosphere and free roam, I loved the claustrophobia. city had a much more involved story and bigger free roam, but not as much of a creepy batman-like atmosphere, although I do think the free roam was better. overall, I think city was just a TAD better than asylum. Origins was pretty good, but they used arkham city free roam and only made a very small area of new gotham, but the boss battles were fucking phenomenal. Knight had great free roam, graphics and story, but they overused the batmobile a bit. Overall my grade from best to worst is: City, Asylum, Knight, and Origins

ARKHAM ASYLUM - PERFECT! Almost 10/10 ARKHAM CITY - AMAZING! 9.5/10 ARKHAM ORIGINS - AMAZING! 9.5/10 I don't care what anybody says about Origins i absolutely love that game, even the multiplayer.
@squidlad11279 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I loved origins just as much the others.
@darkartsdabbler24079 жыл бұрын
Dylan Riquelme But how? Most of it was just Arkham City with a new coat of paint. Not only that, it held your hand way to much. An example of that being the terrible tutorial where the game did most of the work. It was also much shorter, I was shocked when it ended because of how short it was. On top of that, the sandbox felt much more empty than Arkham City's sandbox (despite being bigger). What else?, the majority of boss fights were just non-stop countering and striking (except the Firefly fight, that time the game just played itself for you). But wait, there's more: the stealth sections were way too easy because they smother you in gadgets that are more useful than the ones Batman uses in later years for some reason. Lastly: the challenge maps are decidedly boring (the GCPD one aside). Whereas I give the two previous games a ten, I'd rate Origins a 6/10. The only reason it gets a positive score from me is because the crime scene analyzing was good and multiplayer was pretty fun (when it worked, which was rare) I guess that's what happens when your game is an unnecessary prequel farmed out to a new studio because the original developers didn't like the project.
@christopherdylanriquelmerod9 жыл бұрын
Dick Grayson Because i just had a great time with the game and barely experienced any of the problems that many other people experienced and i absolutely loved the multiplayer but i did get kind of bored with it when i got every unlockable and achievement, but that is expected.

Great without a doubt, it definitely isn't my favorite, Arkham Asylum is and always will be, but i loved the game and i still do love it, even if i don't enjoy playing it that much now or that i'm not very entertained by it after completing the whole thing 240% as it is in the game which i find a bit ridiculous but screw it, i know i still love it and i always will, even if might be my least favorite, i'm not sure, i honestly love them all.

What's wrong with button mashers? They're fun too. Hell, I button mashed my way through Ninja Gaiden II, and had one Hell of a good time doing it. Ha. Yeah, it don't take much skill to button mash, it's true. However; in my own opinion, if a game, its game play and combat mechanics becomes too complex, it just loses its fun factor. I think we all forget that video games are all about one thing, fun. But, hey, if you're a person who enjoys playing a game on the hardest setting, and spends hour upon hour learning how to master certain button and analog stick combos. more power to ya! This is just one man's opinion. Great review, Chris. My personal favorite parts of Batman: Arkham Asylum, has got to be the Scarecrow, worlds of ruin. That laugh is just creepy, but bad ass. Really late to this review but wanted to say, I feel like there’s more than button mashing if you try to go for a high combo when in combat. You’re forced to use gadgets or different take down styles for example to increase the combo multiplier.

@PauLtus_B9 жыл бұрын
Christopher De Freitas I have 1 complaint about Asylum which is that you'll look through detective mode most of the time. I can't really remember anything that I didn't like about Arkham City. Most of all it's just amazing how good the game is at letting you "become the Batman". My favourite thing still is to enter a room filled with thugs with guns and either take them out with bringing them in a complete state of panic or never letting them know you were there. One of the great things as well is that you actually can't take a lot of damage, you can't take a lot more punches from enemies than they can get from you to go out, and run up to a guy shooting and you're likely to be dead. Wit that: a very twisty story with plenty of fan service. Gameplay overall is varied: It's fistfighting which feels like Batman It's stealth which feels like Batman It's platforming which feels like Batman, just amazing to grapple and glide through the city.

chris i recently picked up arkham city as a steam game on pc, and it is very interesting though whats very strange is, they do not introduce earlier the 1960s batman and robin mode until arkham origins and arkham knight, thats 1 of the things thats a little disappointing cause sometimes had these other batman games introduced multiplayer earlier then you would play with friends to get through the level easier without being shot at or stabbed at by a villian and maybe had warner games gave batman a gun to actually shoot the bad guys, then it would have made it like the die hard games where the cop would stop bad guys easier, cause in my opinion ,if these batman games continued, they should have a die hard tone to batman games but have very comedy elements in it as well much like the adam west meets the early michael keaton batmans and of course batman the animated series but with robin and the other sidekicks in it too oh, and i dont think there has been very many appearances of the first robin now called nightwing in a batman game, maybe if a new batman game was more open world on pc, then there could easily be the possibilty for crossover appearances from other superheros , but if it was also a crossover between the die hard games that fox interactive does, then i think that pretty much would be interesting, cause the dc superheroes including batman could help john mcclane , and mcclane can give batman some very positive detective advice on stopping the joker and the other supervillians much like how al in the first die hard film aided john trying to stop hans gruber do u think that a crossover game between batman and his buddies and the die hard universe that was open world on pc would be a good idea?
