is a series of action-adventure video games based on the DC Comics character Batman, developed by Rocksteady Studios[1][2] and WB Games Montréal, and published by Warner Bros. The second game, Arkham City (2011), is set a year later, after Professor Hugo Strange develops Arkham into a massive super-prison enclosing a neglected segment of Gotham City; Batman is incarcerated and must uncover the secret behind Strange's sinister scheme, "Protocol 10", while slowly dying from an illness inflicted by the Joker. The third game, Batman: Arkham Origins (2013), serves as a prequel set several years before Arkham Asylum, in which a younger and less-refined Batman must deal with eight deadly assassins contracted to kill him by crime lord Black Mask on Christmas Eve, while also encountering the Joker for the first time. The fourth installment, Batman: Arkham Knight (2015), is Rocksteady's conclusion to the series. Set 9 months after the events of Arkham City, Arkham Knight sees Batman facing Scarecrow along with the mysterious Arkham Knight (and his militia), as well as numerous other supervillains[3] who have seized control of Gotham City in a plan to destroy Batman, both physically and mentally. The franchise has also seen the release of various mobile games, and a virtual reality game, Batman: Arkham VR, also developed by Rocksteady.

I got the Arkham collection on Steam for $9.. it was $60! I cant believe the first game is only 8GB I can download this thing in 10 minutes and start playing.. unlike nowadays it takes hours to download 50+ GB games. Man 2005-2015 really was the golden era of gaming, I don't think we will have anything like it again, at least so far this RTX ON photorealism era with VR growing on the side just doesn't feel the same as the good ole days.

Or it is because the technology isn't avaliable to offer the same protection as the other, less bulky, suits at the time of origin. We see more protection being offered in origin by the same suit as we upgrade the suit. As a real life example, mobile phones were really bulky early on but over a period of time they became better and became less bulky. The same could've happened with the batsuit. EDIT: This might be really obvious... Or it might seem to be obvious...

Origins's exteriors are worse than City's imo but the interiors, my god, WB Montreal were on another level entirely: the lighting, the composition, everything was top notch. After having played all of them, I seriously don't know which one's better. Each one does something better than the other, but I guess City and Knight are the better ones, because they each brought a lot of innovations (City: Dive bomb, multi-counters, disarm&destroy, blade counter, multi-takedown, a plethora of other gadgets ; Knight: fear takedowns, Batmobile (for better and worse) more verticality in the predator encounters) which we didn't even realise would be good additions. The Arkham series came in like a truck. Nobody saw it coming, but we all welcomed it with open arms. Seriously one of my favourite gaming franchises

One of the reasons why I like the Return to Arkham remaster is that they fixed Batman's face in Asylum and made it look younger. I don't like how in the original version he looks older and with wrinkles even though its a prequel to City and he looks younger there.

Origins and Knight lacked that Burton-esque quality that oozed out of the first two games. Something really fantastical and mystifying in the overall design and aesthetic of Asylum and City that I can't perfectly describe, they were gritty but they had moments of charm, like something out of a Disney film.

Arkham City is best for me, and as I can see for the most of us(but of course someone gonna text me that he's favorite is Arkham Origins or anything else). Arkham Asylum is almost the same for me, but it have more simple plot and some moments that I don't appreciate. City have it too, but less. Arkham Origins and Arkham Knight is great games, but not as first two. Arkham Asylum and Arkham City is one of the best games ever made

putting origins aside, I think the arkham trilogy is somewhat nolan's trilogy: ASYLUM - BEGINS: very well done, some rough edges, but very enjoyable and fun. CITY - TDK: the absolute best in the series, an untouchable gem. KNIGHT - TDKR: misunderstood by many, filling a very big shoe from its predecessor, but overall a great story. Bonus: Origins - a graphic novel prequel that no one cares that much about, but deserves some more attention.

Futuristic technology can look less realistic. In Knight we are seeing the Batman at its end but at Origins we see it at the start. I don't know if this is correct but there is around 6 years between them and a lot can change in half a decade.

For me, they all have nostalgia. Its just arlham knight plays on arkham asylums nostalgia instead of creating its own. And small details bother me. Like how crime alley was different in each game. And little stuff like that.

Batman city really the best but second I give it to origins I love both of them they had sum great bosses in both but city had more that’s what I loved an the fighting an story set ups was great but I feel origins story a lil better then city how it all started an origins graphics are better I love them both then knight then the first one

I wish we'd get another prequel game to Asylum but it's more like a couple of weeks or months away, and we get Batman, and Bruce Wayne missions and cutscenes and we get to meet some of his villains like Harvey, Selina, and we also get to have Jason as Robin, and we get the Batmobile, and lastly, we can go to the old Arkham Asylum.
