But its even more amazing in that he managed to entangle Harley by a sort of accident. And to think how Harley has her own story in that she feels like this and it shows how she didn't run away with the joker because she was a lovesick puppy who wanted affection, but because she saw someone who could understand...

I just realized something. When Harley says "Acceptance" and Joker laughs and says, "My favorite stage," which we, of course, assume he means as a comedy stage. The way he laughs about it, though, it might have a double-meaning. He might mean acceptance is his favorite stage of the 5 stages of loss (denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance), because he's been through all the rest due to the death of his wife and he enjoys the acceptance stage.
@unouloveme54953 жыл бұрын

its an interesting amount of perspective on who the joker is, it is also a good spin on how Harley fell for him and also the jokers feelings on batman, what with Harley believing that everything he was talking about, the one person he feels understands him and who "completes" him in a sense the "one he met tonight" was herself when in reality he was talking about batman. really sets up both of there obsessions well.

It seems to me that The Joker is not afraid of death, because really, he wants to die and with a bang. He sees fate as evil and I see it as him causing destruction to show the true nature of what Gotham really is. Corrupt and not able to be tamed. Batman saving his life is almost like a mercy that he constantly refuses the Joker at every turn, causing Batman to be the Joker's obsession. Why is Batman the only one willing to save his life at every turn, knowing that he is Batman's possibly greatest enemy and knows that he will kill again?
@fist-of-doom48710 жыл бұрын
The Origin story they refrenced here for the Joker is truly as sad one and was actually the first time he met Batman before he became Joker. Before he was Joker he was an Engineer who was failing at a career in Standup Comedy. He had a wife who was about to have a child, he was broke and they lived in a terrible apartment. One day at a bar a group of thugs are talking about breaking into a chemical plant that's working on some strange chemical and recruit the sad man to pose as The Red Hood and help them break in. Just moments before it happens he gets a call that his wife's died due to an electric appliance failure that killed her. She was the reason he agreed to do the crime and now that she was gone he wanted to leave, but the criminals wouldn't let him. Once in Batman catches him and accidentally knocks him into the chemicals and he gets flushed out of the plant. As he took of the disguise he discovered the chemicals bleached his skin white and turned his hair green. He looked like a clown, and it broke him. This was just a cruel joke the universe made. A sad man who lost everything has been made a clown, and he laughed. He laughed loud and hard. He would be the cruel joke that would ruin peoples lives. He wanted to show the everyone how cruel the world was and to show them their whole lives are nothing more than a monstrous, demented, joke. All it took was one bad day to turn a normal man into a monster.

@fist-of-doom48710 жыл бұрын
That would make a little sense, because he rarely has shown the desire to save himself. But his near death almost always comes right after he did something so horrible that good people would willing to do bad things. I think his end goal is to not simply die but bring as many people as he can down to his level, if he happens to die in the process then so be it.
