Why would you want the new batman game to still be restricted like 30 years old games still? Just being able to look through a frame/window (=TV) and press buttons to remote control batman in that frame when you can literally be batman yourself utilizing the most modern consumer technology lol?

@@GeoSage ah thats a valid reason. It’s unfortunate very common to get motion sickness when playing Vr the first few times when using free movement. But everybody I know was able to get this not being an issue anymore by playing more frequently, starting with more comfortable, stationary games and increasing the intensity over time. There is still some months left until arkham shadow releases, so everybody should be able to be ready until then

First, this is being developed by a studio owned by Meta so it won't be going to any of those platforms. Second the entire game was developed for a specific VR headset so it wouldn't even work in flat screen. And third, the game is going to on Quest 3 only, not Rift (Oculus doesn't even exist anymore except as the name of Meta's gaming division, none of the VR headsets have had Oculus branding for a couple of years now).

WB had no interest in making another Batman Arkham game, it was Camouflaj who approached WB with their idea for a Batman Arkham VR game 4 years ago, which WB liked so they licensed the IP. WB already had Gotham Knights and Kill the Justice League in development so the only way we'd get another Batman Arkham game is from another developer. I understand that it sucks for anyone who doesn't own a Quest 3, but at the same time you sell hardware by making great games for it, it's what both Nintendo and PlayStation have done for decades, and Meta are doing the same thing here with Quest 3.

If they do a batman vr game, they need combat to be actual hand to hand where you put up your hands to block, punch, duck, etc. same with stealth where you grab around their mouth or grab and punch? Sum immersive.

You do a punch to dash towards enemies and then need to followup attacks with a particular rhythm to successfully combo. Attacks from other enemies will be telegraphed and it is up to the player to dodge/block. Gadgets can also be used during combat for an advantage.

A lot of people would’ve much rather they just release a new Arkham game for consoles but instead they don’t listen to community feedback and then we get games like suicide squad and this game. It’s sad.

@@v3rhal3n28 VR games usually run at 90 fps, which is higher than normal tv based consoles games running at 30 or more recently at 60 fps. Tv based console games just take place in a small frame/window (=tv) and they lack any true depth, its just 2D. You are very seperated from the game. Vr games takes place all around you with true depth, just like reality. Think of an holodeck. For controls, on TV based games you basically just use remote control commands. There is the option for motion controls but those basically just translate your motions into button presses to trigger animations. Again you are seperated from the game. In Vr (or reality) you just act mostly naturally with a game. Its not perfect yet either (you are usually still running around with a analog stick because you lack the space to run naturally), but its still a HUGR improvement

But I would never sit here and say “ah yes an another Arkham Batman game, I really hope it’s a meta quest exclusive.” My entire point is the fact that the devs just straight up refuse to listen to community feedback at this point. Nobody wanted an rpg suicide squad game nor another vr Batman game. I’m sure I speak for the majority when I say that we would’ve much rather another Arkham game for consoles and PC.

I am happy that Roger Craig Smith is coming back to reprise as the Dark Knight from Batman Arkham origins. But I wish this was for PS5 and Xbox Series, however I do pray that one day this will lead to a true proper sequel to Arkham Origins with Crag Smith continuing to play as Batman.

I saw this for the first time and I lost my SH*T IT LOOKS SO GOOD I WANT A META QUEST 3 NOW TF 😭😭😭 (smith has some BIG shoes to fill when it comes to taking up the mantle of the Batman. But like many others, I’ve seen what he can do and bring to the role so I’m not worried. Tbh conroy was more recognizable I.
