Gotta say, I'm really quite glad how this video came out. I've got a lot of nostalgia for this game, and really loved it a lot as a kid. Looking back, there are some issues to note; for instance, the walking and running controls are a little wonky. Batman has this habit of drifting off to the left or right when moving, so he ends up slaloming around. But at least he has auto-run instead of Arkham's stupid "hold button to run" controls, ughh...

Holy shit I thought I was the only person who's ever played or even remembered this game. I actually bought it again a couple years ago at a retro game store in Seattle because it was like, 6 bucks, and because I remember playing the game religiously as a kid. It actually held up surprisingly well. It's also backwards compatible on the 360 and works extremely well on it (some games, especially older xbox games, have issues on the 360, like audio and visual glitches).
@D4WN0FF1R34 жыл бұрын
I know there's footage of it in the video, but the X-Men Legends games (mostly the second one, the first one is ridiculously hard in places, but I still love it) are some of my favorite PS2 games to this day.
@crescentfresh80014 жыл бұрын
I had always lumped this in with all of the near-unplayable Batman games (in my defense, it was a LONG stretch since the last good one at that point), I'll have to play it, it looks really solid by mid-aughts movie tie-in standards.
@kainhighwind24 жыл бұрын
You should check out Captain America: Super Soldier. It's basically Arkham Asylum, but it's WW2. And you're Captain America. It's also canon to the MCU, because it takes place during that big montage in "The First Avenger" and manages to throw in some comic villains like Madame Hydra.

I still feel like the only reason that The Dark Knight game was cancelled comes down to Heath Ledger's tragic & untimely death. Given how much of what made this game was the character models & VO starpower, to have someone even TRY mimicking that performance (whatever you think of it now in 2020) would not only have fallen short talentwise but also come off as potentially tasteless.

Man, I really should have given this game a chance. I turned it down because all I saw was just a bunch of unimpressive screenshots of barren rooms on some now long-defunct websites. All the levels have such a mid 00's polish that's genuinely pushing the limited hardware. Really should have picked it up, I would have had a blast.
@haroldsorto69973 жыл бұрын
But.....but he does invest a good amount of it back into Gotham. I mean the budget isn't as high as his Batman budget, but he's just following U.S budgetary guidelines. Defense/Offense first and whatever else after. Also, think Gary Oldman was going to be in the Dark Knight game or something, remember reading that he saw a build of it before it was canceled. So, think that there was another reason as to why he wasn't in the first game. And yeah I'm still salty about the tumblr too, even more so because I'm sure it inspired that god-awful bat tank in Arkham Knight.
