Batman Begins (2005) is my favorite Batman movie, hands down. After talking about video games and movies for years, I figured it was finally time to yap about one of the best comic book movies ever made.

one of the best batman movies, I agree. but out of all the batman things, The Killing Joke is hands down the best comic you'll ever lays your eyes on. Even if you aren't into comics all that much, you'll definitely want to read The Killing Joke. It's stomach churning, bloody, psychologically twisted, just read it, you won't be disappoint.

The scene that first sees Batman in action, taking out Falcone’s thugs in the maze of shipping containers - just awesome. There’s a dread and menace about the invisible threat Batman poses, there’s something genuinely unsettling about it, perfectly captures the idea of Batman wanting to terrify his targets while lurking in the shadows. Really short sequence, not a great deal even really happens - but it encapsulates what The Batman is. Absolutely perfect.

Love that you pointed this out. I am one of those people that hates excessive cuts in movies especially during action scenes, but Batman Begins is the only exception because it shows that he fights like a ghost, like you couldn’t even hit him if you wanted to, whereas in the dark knight he literally seems like a dude who took a couple of krav maga lessons and threw on a batsuit 🤷🏻‍♂️

TDK is a perfect movie. one of a few. having watched the trilogy back to back this week, once you get to TDK, the writing, action, set pieces, directing, acting, and character work just kick it up to a whole new level. there is not a dull or slow moment the entire way through. BB has a lot of slow parts to get through, and horrible action scenes. the atmosphere is definitely done better in BB, but so much of TDK is damn near perfect to me (and a lot of other people)

"I - uh... I wanna thank you all for coming here tonight and drinking all my booze." The entire monologue where he ridicules everybody at his party is quite possibly my favourite scene in the film. I just love Bale's delivery here because you can sense that he doesn't want to say this and yet wants to say it to directly to some of these "phonies" as well; plus he's trying to save them all from getting killed by a band of ninjas... so there's that too. Also, if you haven't checked them out yet, I would highly recommend the Batman Telltale video-games. The storyline for those two games, and how they develop all of the characters through your choices as Bruce/Batman, is absolutely sensational. I'm absolutely in love with their take on The Joker, I just think it's so neat to see him and Bruce as close friends (if you want to play it out that way). Just based off the story and characters alone, I'd say that it's my favourite of the Batman games and, quite possibly, my favourite adaptation of the source material.

Batman begins has always been my favorite. I’m a sucker for origin stories and martial arts movies. With Batman being one of the best martial artists in the DC universe it always bums me out how all other Batman movies don’t really show how in depth his martial arts training really is. Of course his intelligence and resources help with his ability to be Batman but without his martial arts training he would not have the fighting or stealth skills he needs. The martial arts training is truly the base of batman and the fact they show this in batman begins makes it number 1 for me!

Still one of my all-time favorite films. Every line is instantly memorable, and even the minor characters like Mr. Earle, Commissioner Loeb and Flass deliver them well. Begins built the structures that allowed The Dark Knight and the Arkham games to succeed (even the music; TDK and TDKR only added new villain themes), while also comBATing the stain left on the franchise by Bat Credit Card. All of the enjoyment you get out of those, you owe in part to this movie... didn't you get the memo?

It'sAlexForShort there’s too many quick cuts right when someone gets hit, you can barley tell what’s happening. Jake literally mentions this in this video!!! And Bale looks ridiculous while fighting because the batsuit’s head piece stays in place and doesn’t move at all. A lot of movies do this quick cut bullshit to hide bad choreography. The warehouse fight scene in Batman v Superman is better than any fight scene in Barman Begins because the cuts are long with GOOD choreography, and gritty violence so you can actually see what’s happening. When someone takes a hit in that movie you really feel it. (Not saying BvS is a better movie, I know it isn’t, it just has better choreography)

Dark Knight for sure is my favorite. But you can't deny how much fun Batman Begins is. As for the third I think it has some of the best acting moments. Michael Canie's monologue as he is leaving Bruce Wayne is AMAZING.

I just watched Batman Begins last week and it was incredible. Out of the three dark knight films, it has the best Bruce Wayne storyline focus and it’s extremely rewatchable.

I remember my 5th grade teacher showing the Batman Begins trailer to our class and I was so hyped as a kid. The one-two punch of Spider-Man 2 in 2004 and Batman Begins in 2005 is not lost on me. Can’t believe it’s 15 years old, it feels timeless.

Couldn't agree more Batman Begins doesn't get nearly enough praise. Without a doubt my favourite batman movie, also one of my favourite films ever made! Mask of the Phantasm is the best animated batman movie, but Batman Begins is still the best. People go on about the dark knight (which I love ) while forgetting the work of BB Dare I say it: Batman Begins is the best comic book movie ever made !

Just rewatched Batman Begins last night and gotta say it has aged like fine wine. The dialogue is profound and heartfelt, the character dynamics are amazing, and the only thing holding it back is the clunky editing for action sequences. But the writing and acting, and the SCORE, more than make up for that!

Completely agree; Begins is the best. I believe the word you're looking for is EPIC, like you said, evrything feels like a big deal and it really leans on that music. This movie had THEMES- musically and literally... not some generic pop music soundtrack.. Line I remember the most is "You never learned to mind your surroundings!".. specifically when Batman says it to Ra's on the train. 1- it sounds kinda whiny lol, he's all out of breath 2- Bruce is the one who never learned; it just sounds odd; like it should've been, "NOW who hasn't learned to mind their surroundings!?" The whole movie just doesn't get old. Timeless. A timeless classic.

The Narrows scene was quintessential Batman imo. stealth, feeding on fear & unpredictable, i remember having a hard time getting a good look of the suit because of how dark & shadowy it was. I wish they used more of that in the Trilogy, just finding ways more ways to get the criminals off their guard by making them piss their pants with traps & distractions, speaking of which I LOVED the game

I was a little young when it came out so I didn't see it in theater unlike with the Dark Knight or Rises. My local theater played the entire trilogy over a weekend a little while back and I got to see it on the big screen for the first time. I already loved it, but seeing it in a movie theater for the first time just made me appreciate it even more. It really has so many epic moments that play so well in a movie theater like when he goes into the cave and overcomes his fear of bats as they swarm around him what an awesome moment, and the music as you mentioned is used so well. The only thing I don't think holds up so well are the fight scenes, which you touched on a bit. There are a lot of quick cuts and it makes a lot of them hard to follow. Definitely disappointed that Gotham kinda lost its identity in the next two movies. It really felt like its own city in this one where it is pretty obviously Chicago in the Dark Knight and New York in Rises.

What you said about Cillian Murphy as Scarecrow going "The Baaatmaaan": I don't even think it's campy. The way he did that is like this guy is just really wanting to see this guy. Kinda like how Carrey's Edward was obsessed with Kilmer's Wayne/Batman, like a fascination and they want to "meet" Batman, and perhaps also kill 'm, sure. But I think, the way Murphy acted it out, was because of how Nolan directs. And as you might know, he kinda lets the actors go and do their thing, but also tries to find things that make sense. - That's why a lot of his movies click, I feel. So, I mean like, it feels "just right". :)
