I just want a handheld that's small enough to fit in my pocket and handles GameCube and PS2 emulation extremely well. I love my Vita, but it can't properly handle the entire SNES or GBA library. Tho, it is an absolute beast for Sega MD (Genesis) and TG-16. It's been over 12 years. It's time for Sony to bring the next handheld. Hopefully it won't be as big as the Switch.

the first game game i really remember besides old ms-dos learning games was mario 64. my dad wrote about tech and for the n64/ps1 era and a bit before and after we got like every video game free, japanese stuff, went to a lot of press events, gamecube van came to our driveway, etc. i pawned a lot of them for heroin in the mid 2010s when i was in the shit and right before game prices blew up, kept my super favorites but i regret it constantly. but i remember playing mario 64 in japanese when i was about 3 just trying to figure out what to do and exploring that magical world. i think it made me prioritize good exploration in games for the rest of my life

I guess I've always been curious about what happened to Tom and why he isn't around anymore? I really enjoyed seeing you, Andrew, and Tom in the livestreams. Any chance he can come back for a stream in the future? Is it something that you aren't allowed to speak publicly about? I only got love in my heart for you, Tom, and Andrew (though Andrew needs to get a dang haircut/shave)

I think a Sony handheld that plays the existing library of games in the PlayStation ecosystem is a great! I have a sizeable library and a handheld to play those games would be great. I hope it’s simple and just works great. I’m not sure I want them to do anything “extra”, I’d prefer just a solid PlayStation handheld for my games library. The Vita was probably the nicest handheld console I think has ever been made, with the Gameboy Advance SP in second place.

Re: The Sony Handheld - meh. The only game i want on the playstation right now is gran turismo 7. I wouldn't wanna play it on controller either, so I literally have no reason to buy it. I kinda have my doubts they'll do anything particularly revolutionary that would make me buy it. I've got good memories with the PSP tho. I currently don't have any any handhelds, but if I were to pick the steamdeck is the way to go. Having my steam library portable with me anywhere I go sounds more worth the money.

I wish Sony would focus on what made the PS4 so strong! Stop worrying about expanding via new hardware avenues, focus on getting excellent games out, and have Nixxes/Iron Galaxy port prior-gen stuff to PC. I feel like that would be way more sustainable than forcing expansion in every direction, wasting hundreds of millions on gambles that just aren't paying out because they're reactionary and late.

The Vita was really cool and while I personally have no need for a new handheld, I'd still be excited to see a new PlayStation one hit the market. I'd be extra excited if they throw in backwards compatibility with a bunch of Vita games or revive the Vita's PlayStore entirely, I think that would make it very interesting for a lot of players.

I don't know what the point of a PlayStation handheld would be for unless they massively ramp up whats on PSN for free. At least with a handheld Xbox you know the idea is to make it a way to access Gamepass on the go without having to fiddle around like you have to with a Steam Deck. Even then its pushing it but there are at least a lot of indie games on there, or on the store that would work on a handheld. You could play them all on a Steam Deck (Or ROG) but I guess the free stuff angle would be the thing. With PlayStation really zeroing in on the prestige AAA games that they are i'm not sure why you wouldn't want to play them on a big tv otherwise whats the point? If it was old PlayStation and they still had a varied portfolio of games of all types then that would be different.

I must admit, I love my portal. With the browser fix a couple of months ago it feels like a pure handheld. With so many games requiring an Internet connection anyway I can't see them doing much more than the portal. Rumours in my opinion.

I've been saying this for a while. The steam deck is the greatest thing to happen to video gaming in a long time. I had so glad I made the choice between that and a PS5 and I haven't gone back. I just hope the rest of gaming takes a look and realizes that this is the angle we should have been going the whole time

I haven’t been this scared of a game since I was a kid. Playing with 3d audio headphones is terrifying. It’s scarier then any Resident evil game when you’re just standing there or walking around simply due to the sound and audio it’s crazy😂

I have nothing but fond memories of the PSP. The vibes were immaculate, and you could watch movies on it.
