Minor correction; Terry’s Batsuit in the DCAU Canon, as shown in the Justice League Unlimited Episode “Epilogue” (The 15 years later/future referred to.) does *not* have a grey Bat Emblem/Symbol. It is almost certainly still red, however the episode contains flashbacks that are in black and white. I believe the narrator was likely confused by the image shown on the wiki he utilized for research, which shows a black and white image of Batman/Terry from Epilogue.

Sooo, the suit could lift up to 1,700 lbs? But it can increase the users strength by 10×? Bruce(prime) could already lift close to 1000 lbs, and any Bat candidate would probably be able to lift enough where the 10× multiplier would greatly exceed 1,700 lbs.

I think the only time the multiplier comes into effect when under great stress, it does monitor his vitals, but only for a short time to minimize the chance of damaging the very human body under the suit.

In terms of the character, I sometimes wonder why Batman doesn’t at least upgrade his suit to this. I mean the dude fights along side Superman, who could probably bench press the planet, and Wonder Woman, a demigoddess who could probably topple Mount Everest like it was a sand castle. And he sometimes even has to fight them. So why he doesn’t want to upgrade his suit to Iron Man levels sometimes baffles me.

An Iron Man suit would prevent him from using his various ninja skills. Although we know he does have them. But I agree if he already has Titanium and circuitry woven into the Kevlar. Why not reinforce the joints and be as strong as he was in his twenties?

Because he is a freakin ninja with a genius level intellect, he is a vigilante, his main purpose was to clean up Gotham not fight otherworldly forces. He only builds powerful suits when its necessary.

Batman's skill is adaptability. I think the big bulky iron man suit would probably just get in the way considering he's already in Olympic shape

The reason to my understanding is that having an ultra powerful suit makes him vulnerable to overcompensating and relying too much on the suit instead of only his wits and his fists. He explained to Alfred he willingly challenges himself to wear a spandex outfit because it keeps him sharp, if he fucks up even slightly he's dead. If he could just walk through automatic machine gun fire he wouldn't need to be able to doge bullets or stay in shape even.

I forget the exact story line, but the batman beyond suit is actually a downgraded version of the original. The original suit also came with an ai that essentially allow its user to continue fighting even with broken limbs. It almost killed Bruce and that's why it was changed, Terry ends up coming across the original one and almost dies fighting Damien

I remember when the show first came out there was a contest to come up with gadgets for the bat suit. I never entered the contest but my idea was for boots that gave batman a burst of speed but only for a short distance... they never revealed if they used anyone's idea.

I think Damian decided he could not be Batman. He wanted to, he has the upmost respect for the title, but I think there were people he came across after having taken them down multiple times whom he could not, in ironically good conscience, allow to live. Batman MUST not kill. That is the limit Bruce decided when he became Batman, a check against himself (he is naturally sadistic with little guilt or remorse for most actions people find reprehensible, he also decided he would never interfere with free will which is really egotistical in a way). So long as Bruce was Batman, Batman would not kill and so Bruce would not kill. If another accepts the mantle, they accept that commandment in their personal and crusading life. People as deeply mentally ill as Bruce required strict adherence to the structure of behavior they create to dictate their lives, knowing their state of mind is greatly influenced by things such as extreme exhaustion and severe emotional upheavel. After someone like Terry accepts the mantle, Bruce is technically free to kill and could easily get away with it, but doesn't because he must be a mentor to Terry and most secrets get found out. Also he still considers himself Batman. I don't doubt he played puppet master from atop his castle on high, not directly killing anyone but arranging for lethal conditions. Pedophiles being bunked with hardened killers that are very protective of children, for example. There is a reason none of his rogues have legacies.

6:52 - Why Bruce Wayne did not use the Barman Beyond suit earlier? Very simple. Because the technology did not exist yet and so the suit itself. Also Bruce never wanted to rely on tech to save the day as that would be a crutch instead of his own body & wits. This was explained in the New Adventure comics recently. Bruce had an early prototype of the suit for a long time in his cave, but he came to the conclussion it was not stable and not possible to use yet. But as age came up and he realized his body was no longer what it used to be, so at late stage of James Gordon's time on the force, Bruce built other exo-equipment beside and started out at old age with an exo-glove that gave him more power in his fighting. The suit was at that point still in development and Bruce had help from an engineer that was also featured in the animated series, forced to make weapon implants to thugs. That man made the key components for the original Beyond suit according to Bruce. Bruce finnished the suit on his early 60's and used it a few years at a time when all else had retired from crime fighting and worked solo. Batman had quit the Justice League and beside his late crime fighting days, his alter ego Bruce Wayne had to fight hostile take-overs from Wayne Industries, especally new big shot Dereck Powers and his Powers Corporation. But one day at age 65, after Bruce's final corporate defense off Powers, Batman was called out to rescue a personal friend's daughter from a kidnapping gang. With heart pain he still defeated the kidnappers until a big heart-attack struck him down infront of a thug and taking a deadly beating that was only saved thanks to a loaded gun dropped from from one of the gang. This was a desperate act that saved the day barrely but cost Batman his fire to go on. Age, health but worse was that he had been forced to use a gun to save his own life - something he had promised himself he would never do, or he would never wear the mantle again. Bruce retired as Batman and shut-down the cave forever (until 20 years later till Terry McGinnies came around and Bruce had a change of heart). A time after Batman dissapeared, Bruce started to not care any longer and soon after that, his Wayne company was merged with Powers and all that he hace carried for was gone as he once knew it. 20 years later...."Rebirth".

Wayne invested money elsewhere so while he is not as rich as he once was, he is still rich enough to keep going the Batman crusades and have his mansion etc. Dereck Powers took the CEO role with the merging and Wayne gave up like he gave up on Batman. Tired, dissapointed and feeling bitter over evreything.

6:52 none of these reasons make any sense as to why he didn't use the suit waaay sooner 😤. First, Lex Luthor has pride, ego & his Warsuit, why the fuck would he want Batman's suit?! Second, Vance successfully hijacked the suit in the future anyway, so what did you accomplish by not using it earlier in fear of Braniac?!! This is the man who has a contingency for everything but against a digital hack he's just stumped?! Braniac once took control of the Justice League in an episode of Static Shock yet our heroes triumphed just fine. Third "He would rely to much on the suit rather than his years of experience & masterful skill?!!!" Bruce is a literal Genius & a Workaholic & Paranoid... HE WOULD NEVER DO THIS, period!!! They seem to forget that Warren & Mary have 2 sons Terry's little brother Matt also has black hair like Terry so he could also be the son of Bruce Wayne so Bruce has an heir & a spare. Should anything happen to Terry Matt would become the new Batman in a comic they show Matt in a mini Batman suit my next question is does Mary & Warren no find out about this? And I thought it was Bruce's idea to use his dna not Waller's unless they collaborated together on the idea. Plus it makes sense why Bruce didn't make an Iron Man like suit when he was young because he spent years of his life honing his skills in martial arts, stealth, detective & pretty much everything that makes him he most dangerous of the JL. He would become lazy & relied too much on his suit to protect him he could be on par with the likes of Cyborg & his fellow teammates but Bruce knows better seeing how his teammates those born with superpowers or acquired them through accidents, experiments, near death etc they became very reliant on their powers to get them out of situations whereas Bruce was an exception. To him it was their achilles heel Bruce wanted to be sure he had the upper hand & it shows.
