This is a triple dip for me. I got the original floppy issues, the Absolute, and now I got this beautiful omnibus. And there was never any doubt as to if I should get this amazing book. How can I leave volumes one and two hanging like that? It’s too good. I just simply couldn’t. So I got it. And wow is it worth it. My favourite Batman rum ever. And my top five comic runs ever. Right up there with Bendis’s Daredevil, Brubaker’s Captain America, Geoff Johns’s Green Lantern, and Hickman’s Avengers. These books are my joy.

Arguably the weakest of the 3 omnis and I own all the content already...however the completionist in me forces me to buy. Love the continuity in the spines and they've done the binding justice. Always happy to get more modern Batman omnis!

I’m unfortunately going to have to wait to get mine because I preordered. But I can’t wait to have it. I recently started vol 1. I’m trying to give Morrison a fresh start because it’s Morrison’s work that made me go on self imposed exile from Batman comics in my 20s. I didn’t like Damien or what he did with Tim or how his stories are a little out there with the camp and goofiness. But he did have a seven year run and that’s a good chunk of Batman history and as a Batman/comics enthusiast, I owe it to myself and the medium to give it one more try.

@Uncanny Omar! / Do you recommend all three Omnibu? Of Grant Morrison’s run? I kinda fell off years ago, barely read a few of these issues. Grant Morrison is a great writer, though. His Rebirth-Action Comics run zips coming out in HC next year. Also, what did you think of Multiversity..? Is it worth reading? Some people said it was waaay to confusing..? Would really appreciate your view on the Multiversity HC.

Yes. in 4:47 you can see Batman with his 70s suit, in the original the new 52 suit appeared, actually this is the exact same content as the Batman Inc. Absolute where the redrawn pages debuted plus Batman The Return which is included in the Batman and Robin Absolute.

I still have to get Volume 1 of those. I've got Volume 2. I've kind of given up on omnibuses right now since I can never find them listed on IST (added several like Black Widow and Cloak & Dagger to my Wishlist but they never become available to order). I’m about to purchase my first “set” of Batman Omni’s. I only own two DC omni’s and they’re New52 Aquaman and Injustice. I want to get into Batman, but I also love the bat family, I like Robin and Batgirl, therefore would you suggest I go for the Morrison 1-3 omni’s or the Snyder and eternal omni’s? I've always been interested in reading Grant Morrison's run on Batman, but I've heard his run isn't the most ideal book to read for newer readers since his writing does tend to be complex from what I heard

The first Morrison Omnibus is what got me into reading Batman. Especially if you're a new reader, you just need to accept that some things in the run are gonna go over your head. But trying to decipher that whole first book was so much fun for me. If you you're able to enjoy books that you know you might not fully understand on the first read, absolutely dive in. This run likes to hide its hand sometimes; there's even a full-prose issue partway through Volume 1 that I got bored with and skipped on my first read, but on re-read that issue ended up being super important to understanding what was going on later.

As a new Batman comic collector I'm really torn on these Morrison Omnis. On one hand, it's a good way to avoid buying stuff that's oop + it's probably the cheapest way. On the other hand, it's missing soo many issues in between that are not by Morrison. Also, the spine looks amazing, as you said but since I'd probably display it by reading order that couldn't even be admired. For example: 1st Omnibus get's obsolete when you have/hunt the "Black Glove Deluxe Edition" and go for the "Final Crisis Omnibus" (includes "Batman R.I.P.") which you probably want to get anyway. Since I haven't read the run I'm not sure if that fat thing is really worth it or of the regular TP/HC is enough. But that way you wouldn't even miss out on the bigger format (on R.I.P. that is). The "Resurrection of Ra's al Ghul" needs to be bought either way. 2nd Omnibus is missing the end of the Batman and Robin run which is concluded by Paul Cornell and collected in "Vol. 4 HC/TP: Dark Knight vs. White Knight" (which you most likely want to throw in there). The whole B&R by Morrison is already collected in three Deluxe Editions (or Absolute if you feel like it). Plus, "Return of Bruce Wayne" is also collected in that format. You could also consider getting "Time and the Batman" since it's including Batman #703. 3rd Omnibus is probably the most useful out of the three although you could be lucky and get the Absolute of "Incorporated" for a similar price if you like reading in that format. I guess costwise you'd probably end up on the same level if you look for good deals (maybe a bit more) but it would make reading the run more comfortable since you could just go book by book instead of jumping back and forth. Saying that, there would probably be laying Paul Dini's Omni around while reading (which is also missing a few issues here and there). Dang, this is frustrating to collect... :D

Here’s my thing. I couldn’t get into RIP and felt so cold with Final Crisis, maybe due to RIP disconnect. But very much enjoyed Batman Inc. and The Return. Given I missed a lot and basically stopped reading DC six months into Nu52, is this worth it? Will getting it all improve it and help me shake the bad vibes? I am legitimately asking.

This is super controversial, but, if I’m honest, Grant Morrison’s is probably my favorite Batman run. Full stop. I like certain stories more (Year One, Hang Time, etc.) but in terms of the bigger picture, nothing beats this for me.

If you're starting then the best would be ultimate spiderman which has one omnibus but it was never continued so just buy the hardcovers, other stories I would recommend are the spiderman vs venom omnibus if you like venom or some other great stories are the j. Michael Straczynski run hope this helps.

Dan slott isn't bad either and straczynski is really good especially coming home and the other. So much to choose from. Plus I love Spider-Man noir or 2099 if you are looking for alternative Spider-Man.

The color coded spines on the omnis are a cheap marketing gimmick targeting dumb people like me who like that type of thing. Spines that go together form a larger picture are the best but this is nice too.

I wasn't a fan of this run. Morrisons Batman was just too insane for my taste. I remember buying his first issues when Damien was introduced and then him wearing a multicolor suit... That's when I dropped it. Picked it up again around the Battle for the Cowl when Batman and Robin started and dropped it again shortly after. But I've considered buying these and reading them as a whole... Didn't get back into Batman until the Snyder and Capullo run. Loved their run (except for the Gordon "Bunny" Batman). Not a fan of Tom Kings run either, but read it all.
