I first saw the trailer for Caped Crusader and immediately started to search the show up, and then found a bunch of videos talking about a gender swapped Cobblepot and I just…cringed. First Kill The Justice League, and now this? It doesn’t work… I do love some of the redesigns of other villains though, Catwoman especially looks really cool, but Harvey looks a little bland to me. I felt like you’ve made some pretty solid takes, except for your opinion on Robert Pattinson’s The Batman, that take was a big stinker. Don’t worry though, Under The Mayo is still the crowning jewel of having bad takes about Batman Arkham Knight lol

@EiraGoodfellow When beyond premiered i was 16 and didn't know what to expect with the show so i didn't know what to think. also at that time in my life i was living in Germany on a military base the show was brought over but the ONE American channel that shows all the english cartoons doesn't show commercials so there wasn't anything to get me excited about it other than advertisements isn magazines and comics i ran into the same issue for the 1at season of Teen Titans I moved back to the states in 2004 so i was able to seecommercials and whatnot. i love beyond i think that beyond was such a great expansion of the the batman myhos/legacy Terry is a lot more nuanced than bruce, and the episode of justice league that reveals him to be the biological child of bruce wayne was incredible. Terry also had a pretty cool rogue's gallery too line Inque and Derek powers had such a cool visual aesthetic!

I, too, am scared of Matt Reeves and JJ Abrams' names being on the cover, but I still have hope for this. I don't expect it to be as good as the original, but I believe it still has potential. I do love how it's actually focusing on his detective skills more than other iterations have been doing recently. As long as it's better than that one certain comic line _(cough cough, Scott Snyder's Court of Owls, cough cough)_ then I'm cool with it!

Reno ramano who i live in everything I hate him as batman/bruce. I don't like the changes to rogue gallery like clayface. I hate that Batgirl came before Robin I understand the Robin mandate was in effect but that sucks. Ellen Yin just dissapears no resolution to her character. I'm really not of the fan of the art direction in general the animation looks good but the art style puts me off. And lastly the final seasons world tour of guest appearances. They knew it was the final season and threw every cameo they could. The over feel of the show was too lighthearted that works for superman not for batman unless you're going ALL the way campy like brave and the bold.

so i've actually watched the movie again after dropping this video and i tried to have a more open mind but it took me 3 days to finish. i fell asleep twice watching it. all my critiques of the film remain somewhat the same, but i have to add one more i think the movie is flat out boring, it doesn't engage me the way a film should, and Matt Reeves is PIVOTAL to the planet of the apes reboot and those films are so thought provoking, i dont know why his sensibilities didn't translate to batman imo. I really wanted to give it another chance that maybe in 2019 when i saw it i wasn't in the right headspace, but i was genuinely excited to see it then but left my theater supremely underwhelmed. there are some good things about it Colin farrel's penguin, zoe kravitz' body language shifts effortlessly when she's catwoman i think she is the standout in the film. but overall i think the film is a 6/10.

Brave and the bold had moments but was not consistent enough also BTB was supposed to be campy like Adam west batman, that versionbon batman isn't high on my priority list. I don't need caped Crusader to surpass TAS I just need it to actually be worth my time. I really want this show to do well because at least based off the trailer its the style of batman I resonate with. But I thought that about beware and was very let down

I actually love The Batmans artstyle, im a sucker for that edgy 00s style of western cartoon mimicking anime while still being distinctly western unlike say Castlevania and i actually love the unique character designs the show had. I actually miss that timeperiod of cartoons completely reworking characters to where they look unrecognizable from how they appear in the comics and the new superman show almost a throwback to that era

Batman the animated series created the standard for what a good Batman cartoon adaptation could be. Nothing that came after had the cultural impact that BTAS had. I'm not surprised to see this show coming out just after the success of X-Men 97. They are reproducing the look in an attempt to draw in an audience that is nostalgic for the original. Will it have any of the qualities that made the first season a success? That remains to be seen. Based off of everything that has been produced in the past decade, I doubt it. I have watched your video in it’s entirety. I have heard your concerns. And I have to say I find some of your arguments…nitpicky. First, let’s get this out of the way, those shows you don’t like are still well liked as BTAS, not perfect but good in their own rights, I’m not surprised people jumped the gun. Second, complaining about where it is, hey ya know what else I can watch in prime that I probably can’t on max? BTAS, I won’t say that it couldn’t have worked in the lineup they have, but as someone with no max subscription I take the w. You do make some good points though, I have hope for the story telling but we don’t know yet, and yes, BTAS left a huge shadow. Honestly I’m hopeful, no matter where it is. On something unrelated, max did make a Batman podcast not too long ago, if you’re curious check it out.

I actually love the rest of the batman show i believe the majority of them have aspects of them understand batman and tell good stories. But i think the caped crusader is going to be bad. Frankly im soo tired of "batmans origins or early years of batman". The year one movie and the animated series told these stories good enough. Id prefer if they adapted the newer stories or atleast stories and characters from the 90s 2000s and modern era. The batman mythos has several profitable characters. Red hood, damien wayne, professor pyg, hush, the court of owls. While these characters have had their chance the animated movies but they deserve the longevity and notability of tv. And while young justice was good they weren't given the focuses they could have. And frankly i think the animation in the trailers look cheap. But thats probably related to the management at warners bros

i didnt say it to be a fact. this whole video is an opinion piece. Batman has a long and storied film series and there are some truly bad films, The batman for me just doesn't do anything for me, its long drawn out there are too many "connections" that undermine viewer intelligence, or pander to non-batman fans for the sake of being able to wrap the story up as conveniently as possible. I think it's better than either Schumacher film under almost everything else.

i have thoughts and feelings about that show.... but they apply to the larger dcau at large. real quick my take isn't far from others people they cut corners on that show and it's visible but it streamlined the art overall making for easier animation unfortunately the visual appeal of BTAS was one of its greatest strengths it was a tough pill to swallow as a kid. i praised BTAS for not talking down to kids but XTAS and BTAS are both guilty of thinking kids wouldn't notice such drastic changes to art styles, luckily TNBA still maintained high quality story telling. that transition to the "sleeker" art style though became the go to style for the DCAU at large though. its's part of the reason i personally hold teen titans and legion of superhero's in very high regard both shows imo got DC animation to a place where where art direction really felt like it mattered. Then the batman came out it left me deflated.

@@HeroCourseDropOut ok, but TNBA had an average storytelling, with Batman behaving like a dick (and literally deserving Grayson's disdain), the Batgirl ship, or how most of the episodes from that sequel lacked the sleekness of the original cartoon. THE BATMAN cartoon was its own thing, not owing anything to the DCAU. THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD was great in that it was a love letter to DC Comics, and both series (along with BATMAN BEYOND) have been the best Batman cartoons ever, next to the 92 one. I can agree on BEWARE THE BATMAN, though, which is, by far, the worst Batman cartoon ever.

I kind of always liked the dissolution of the bruce/dick dynamic. Batman trying to distance himself from the team while simultaneously needing them feels likes a general theme of TNAB. And it carries all the way to the batman beyond return of the joker movie.

If you want my opinion on those movies here you go: Batman '89 goated started a tradition where i've seen every theatrical batman release just me and my dad. Returns danny devito IS the penguin in the same way Robert downey Jr. is Tony Stark, Forever - Jim Carey saves that from being a pretty crap film, batman and robin - bat nipples say it all Begins - best batman origin story in live action film except for the way they say Ras al ghul The Dark knight: The GOLD standard of superhero films. Rises- better than everyone says it is not as good as the dark knight

The art style really isnt thwt much like the animated series its its more like archer really i think the only reason you think that its the anainted series art style is because of the costume wich is a batsuit ofc theyll look alike but really they dont like that much alike the new one is batmans first ever costume that he hade in hes first appearance but with black gloves instead of the purple ones wnd teh animated one is just a average batsuit he looks like that most times thats what he wore in the brave and the bold aswell

ok so i have these problems with the film. Starting with Pattison i find his performance STIFF! I loved the physical makeover and how his Bruce Wayne looks perpertually tired but he feels like he's not giving the performance his all he's better than affleck by MILES . Bale is my ideal batman/bruce balance there are scenes in the Dark knight and begins where BRUCE is an outright Tool because bale treats bruce like the mask and batman as the man. And the mask is an outlandish playboy who bathes in restaurant fountains then buys the restaurant when they try and kick him out. Pattinson seems despite himself as bruce and not in a non chalant way. I think the movie is not paced well either which is evident in its nearly 3 hour run time so i found myself bored during certain stretches of the film, I HATE the plot point of Thomas asking for Mob bosses to threaten journalists over Martha's mental health issues. Selina Kyle being related to falcone bothers me these type of connections don't need to be made. to me these kind of alterations to long established characters is a way of talking down to the audience. like we can't have seperate entities I have a similiar problem with the The Amazing Spider-Man films where EVERYTHING is tied to oscorp the lizard, the goblin, electro, EVEN peter's powers. but with peter's powers its even worse since the DNA in the Spiders belongs to richard parker meaning ONLY peter could have become spider-man. These things water down the product! They even found a way to tie the riddler to the wayne's not allowing him to be a stand alone villian.

Oohmf the is the 2nd time I've made that mistake. we need more titles! So after making this video and seeing people responses I went back and rewatched it... it took me 3 days I kept following asleep the movie actually bores me... the film has stakes but they feel almost meaningless and I dislike things like the riddler having personal a personal vendetta against the waynes, Thomas Wayne beholden to the mob and catwoman being related to Moroni, its like in the amazing spider-man series everything is OSCORP. Why do film makers TREAT fans like we can't understand characters as being unconnected with thier own motives

Some of them are great but lack comic Accuracy and they don't always encapsulate Batman's and Bruce Wayne's character properly The Batman movie was good but Bruce Wayne's portrayal was honestly very very sh***ty And j don't understand how you feel happy about yourself saying this when these animated shows are some of the best rated shows you can find anywhere 😂😂😂... I feel happy about it because that is my opinion, it is my opinion that 2 of 3 of those shows are bad and one is just meh! that sucks to me. when Batman TAS, Superman TAS, both justice league shows batman beyond, static shock, teen titans SHIT EVEN the ZETA PROJECT, make all 3 of those show looks terrible! and they all tell much better stories. SOME of the animated movies are awesome but there are way too many i can't even keep track of the one's I've seen except Red hood always sticks out though.
