He even weaponized house hold appliances. *SatAm has his own army of smaller robots but has built an Infiltrator robot before that fooled most of the freedom fighters and is a dangerous chemist who created diamond glass, the test pod's pollution gas, and even the speedster stopping mega muck. Also had a 250 ton life energy stealer mech that reduced a truck load of fresh cut timber to saw dust after 2 second exposure to the life ray. *Fleetway warped a whole future timeline to torture Sonic after becoming a chaos god. Infiltrated and defeated 2 separate alien armies.

the interesting thing here is that Karmic Retribution deals damage proportionnal to the amount of people the target has killed, but since Batman doesn't kill (allegedly) he should be fine, outside of the 1 damage per frame where the bones hit him. another thing is that, should dialogue fail and a fight start, the chances of both of them getting out of it alive are little to none since Sans only has 1 HP, meaning the 1st attack that hits is also the last.

The contingency plan has various failures. 1. Sans is so weak that in the case of hitting it with non-lethal force, he could die (1 atk, 1 def). 2. Evasion is not taken into account, Sans can teleport, float, and is lightweight. 3. Sans has a distance advantage; his attacks are bones and the Gaster blaster. He can attack without moving a single bone of his body. 4. Sans can detect your soul (probably), karmic retribution, and controlling the gravity of your body, via your soul, would make holograms useless. 5. Making Sans tired is not only the least effective way but also the hardest. Between avoiding Gaster blasters, bones, and blue bones you will get tired too. There was a reason why Reset could defeat Sans, and he traumatized both users. One of them even became unable to reset.

If Sans was in the Justice Leauge he'd probably kill people like Joker with relative ease since his KR is more powerful the more sinful the enemy is. He wouldnt be really helpful in containing them if the enemy has too much sin on their hands. ATTENTION It is NOT confirmed that KR is somehow a function of morality. There's no data in the game files that would suggest this is the case other than the implications of "karma". Sans has shown to be extremely powerful even without it. He can still stop time, teleport, use psychokinesis, etc. He does NOT necessarily have 1hp, nor 1 atk or def. Stats in Undertale are very unreliable (undyne having more defense without armor), and usually serve a gameplay purpose rather than to be taken literally (mettaton NEO having -4000 def). Similarly, if we were to imagine Undertale's fighting system in a real, 3d battle, I would imagine Sans' i-frame negation and poison effect as stabbing amd bleeing out. His blasters melt away the body of even the strongest human. Sans is kinda OP.

Honestly Sans is just too tricky to deal with without the power of retries. Not to mention his powers to control his opponent's gravity and throw them around into traps that he can create on the spot. Though I think one of his greatest weapons against someone like Batman is his teleportation and I don't mean that because HE can teleport I mean that because he can teleport others with him which means that he can teleport Batman away from Gotham City and away from all of his arsenal of weaponry and gadgets that he can't carry on his person. Although unless Batman commits literal genocide then I don't think Sans would have a reason to take things that far. If Batman simply talks to him then Sans even if he doesn't entirely agree with Batman, he isn't going to try and fight Batman over it and is more likely to just give Batman some advice that he thinks that might help the situation or just says something that he generally feels like Batman needs to hear, something for Batman to think about.

Interesting note about the attacks in Undertale: They directly affect one's soul. Which means traditional armor and defenses might be ineffective. Luckily, Batman has training in multiple forms of mediation and has comprehension of such ethereal things to craft technology suited for a more proper defense or repair. For Sans in particular, Batman would need to be aware of the difference between his normal attacks and his BLUE attacks. Since BLUE attacks do not hurt someone if they are standing still, Sans uses that fact to bait his opponent to stop before he uses a more lethal normal attack. For Batman who mastered full body control, this is barely an issue. However, sight is required, and the attacks can come in multiple directions. Last from me, as stated, Sans is very sociable. He is good at reading people's faces and knowing what they are thinking. And if Sans can read this: " -_- " and can tell how many times they died fighting him (up to eleven times), Batman is not going to fare much better, even though half of his face is usually covered.

I'll amend the first point. There is a defense stat in Undertale, and armor can raise it. So... yes, armor is effective. However, Karma bypasses defense. So long as Sans's attacks make contact, his opponent will get hurt for at least the smallest amount. And that amount is applied to their SOUL.

But the characters exist as sort of "blank slates" for us because they are our vessel for playing the game. Which is why they have yellow skin. However, for the purposes of Sans reading his opponent, this hardly matters. No matter Frisk's feelings, the information of RESETS is still written on their face, and Sans can numerically tell how many times they died, if they got dunked on before, if they have killed him before, or tell if they have already gotten his room key on an earlier SAVE. All of this, and we are to assume that Sans, while being aware of different timelines, only truly experiences one (the current one). I should note that after all of this, Sans is still just guessing. "that's the expression of someone who's died eleven times in a row. well, give or take. there's nuance to this stuff. don't think i'll be able to count very well from here." I would say that I underestimated Batman, and, egg on my face, I already wrote about it. Batman has full body control, including his facial muscles. Batman can tell Sans, "I know someone with a big smile like yours," and still be as difficult to read as if he said nothing at all.

The reason Sans fights in the Genocide Route isn't because everyone died, he doesn't care that much because he knows that no matter what he does it's pointless, but during the Genocide Route he realizes that EVERYTHING will end, and that's when he realizes that he "can't afford not to care anymore".

Hilariously, Batman thinking he'll be safe to just hide out in the Bat Cave is probably his biggest oversight here. He's not gonna be able to stop Sans from getting inside lol. There's also no guarantee deploying a device to stop teleportation will work to stop Sans since his powers plug more into quantum mechanics than matter swapping. He's not jumping from spot to spot, he's invoking a reality where he is in a different location.

Sans occupation is literally a judge. Sans, karmic retribution might not work how we see it in games. In games, its power is based off how many you've killed, but what if in reality it just affects you based on everything you've ever done wrong or any harm you've ever done. In that case, it would be able to harm anyone, but what if it is only effective based on what sans you sees as deserving retribution in which case batman might be perfectly fine. Or if it is entirely based off of what you've done in a certain amount of time mixed with your intentions or even based only off of intentions or the acts in question.

I'm being honest, Sans would be a VERY difficult opponent for batman to deal with. Most of the scenario's I can think of, batman loses. This man Sans is BUILT DIFFERENT. First of all, the KR being based on LV is misinformation. That's where batman completely mess up there. KR isn't based on LV, never was, or never said it was. You can even check the game files, there's nothing saying KR is based on LV. It's just a theory, A GAME THEORY! Made by matpat ofc. Sans is just able to Ignore mfs durability without drawbacks. If batman and Sans would to come a 1v1 scenario, batman is getting absolutely shredded. Undertale Monsters, even humans attacks are Both physical and astral. Astral, meaning it goes right to the soul. Batman, quite literally haves ZERO soul armor or protection. There's a 98% of sans attacks one shotting him. Deadass. Not just that, people has ignored sans other arsenal, being able to mess with time in space. In grillby's sans literally pauses time while speaking to frisk, there's another instance where, papyrus literally mentioned sans messing with time in space, caught him in the act before. People forget that, Undertale rules, and game mechanics is what hold MOST undertale monsters and characters back. If there was no rules, no game mechanics. No nothing, and the 1v1 is taking place on NEUTRAL GROUNDS? Sans, is possibly the most terrifying thing to ever fight on neutral grounds, because of his OP arsenal. Batman would literally shit himself... (Well, not really. It's batman, but he would be terrified.) So, I'm just saying this man batman ain't beating Sans. Especially how cunning and smart sans is, people downplays this mans intelligence aswell.

He has both. The teleportation and time stop sometimes display differently. Like when he keeps teleporting frisk keeps going from side; there is no clicking or the screen going black there. During his final attack, before his special attack, he keeps teleporting along with his attack. Again, no signs of his time stop power there. Etc. And also find it pretty ridiculous he can get the places he does. Like the alley that goes to a dead to the MTT restaurant by stopping time and running all the way there while dragging a frozen Frisk. There are more thorough posts that explain this even more, but I don’t know where to find those super quickly. Plus, I think I explain it enough. So yeah, no he has both teleportation and time/time stop powers, and there is enough proof of both (imo).

As for his time stop powers, there are multiple times, he does black screen thing, and multiple times he uses that power to stop time and change his attack to something else/something new verry suddenly to us, because he is stopping time. At Grillby’s he blatantly stops time. Papyrus also says Sans will/can prank you across time and space. So yeah, he has time/time stop powers too. Also, sorry for my last comment, I originally thought u were arguing he had just time/time stop powers, instead of u arguing for him just having teleportation. So my bad there. Though, I am kind enough f happy I talked about Sans’ having both teleportation and time/time stop powers anyways.

I've seen a lot of people arguing about how KR works but I haven't seen anyone mention that we don't even know if it works on people who don't have a soul in the Undertale sense. Undertale has a very unusual concept of what a soul is & some of the game's concepts are tied to what type of soul a character has. For example, Sans turns your soul blue to use telekinesis on you, which implies that the mechanic where he stops you from flying is really just him weighing you down with telekinesis. That means Sans' telekinetic abilities might not work on Batman & might not even work on inanimate objects. There is some evidence against this though. Like the tornado of trash in Sans' room. Could be a self sustaining trash tornado like the flavor text says because Undertale can be very dumb when it wants to be or the flavor text could just be a joke & Sans actually made a trash tornado with telekinetic energy, either because he thought it would be funny or because it keeps the floor clean without him having to bother to throw the trash away.
