Hello everyone! Check out my short review for Batman on the NES. To me, this is the peak of licensed games on the console and potentially of all-time. Thanks so much for all of the support, I truly appreciate it.

Batman: The Video Game, is a group of platform games developed by Sunsoft for the Nintendo Entertainment System and Game Boy, loosely based on the 1989 film of the same name. Despite having the same title, each is actually a different game. The NES title is arguably the best known and contains five levels culminating in a final showdown with the Joker in the bell tower of Gotham Cathedral. It was received well despite changes from the movie upon which it was based.

It's a tough one! I remember it took me lots of tries to beat the Joker my first go-around. I was recording a Let's Play for it and ended up beating it Deathless out of nowhere, which was pretty sweet. Great game!

@@Bitsandglory part of me wonders if they made it intentionally difficult so you wouldn’t know about it till you met those animals showing you that you can wall jump and then obviously the game seriously opens up after that and if you play through it again you realise you can skip areas.

Batman only has five continues. This is one of the reasons why the game is so difficult.

Yes, the video I've been waiting for! What a solid review, my friend, I couldn't agree with you any more even if I tried. 9.5/10 _all... the... way!_ Nothing will convince me otherwise that this is the best *Batman* game (at least on the NES) as well as the '89 Tim Burton movie which it was, as you say, licensed and loosely based off. Again, well played and well thought-out review. 👏 Also, I have a request... would perhaps a deathless run of *Shadowgate* be on the cards sometime in the future?? 😁

Definitely the best Batman game! I did also very much enjoy Batman Returns on the SNES/SFC, as well as Batman Arkham Asylum. But this one takes the cake IMO. I'd probably have Asylum at #2 though if we're being honest. I still have to play the others in that series (too much other stuff to play haha). And yes! I was actually thinking of doing another run of Shadowgate & Uninvited at some point. Not sure if just straight up on the NES, or maybe the GBC version of Shadowgate. I also still have to get to Deja Vu (and Deja Vu II). There will be stuff like that in the future, just a matter of when. EDIT: Oh yeah, I also wanted to try out Shadowgate 64 at some point. And the VR game on the Oculus Quest (Probably won't record that though).

@@Bitsandglory Yeah, _Batman Returns_ was pretty cool. Though very different to the NES _Batman_ gameplay-wise. Don't think I've tried out _Arkham Asylum_ yet but I'd like to. I tried out a bit of _Return Of The Joker_ too which wasn't bad. And I wasn't aware _Shadowgate_ was made available for the N64! I still have my N64 console, I may need to buy me a copy now you mentioned it. I still have yet to finish my game of the new _Shadowgate_ on Switch, you should consider putting that one to your list of future Let's Plays. But yeah, I'd love to see you do a deathless run for _Uninvited_ as well as you trying out _Deja Vu_ for the first time. Maybe "no practice" is the key to your no-death success! 😂

@@guitarzan5328 Dude, I wish it was that easy! I'm in the midst of a Castlevania deathless run attempt, trying it/practicing in the mornings. I still die 1-3 times per run. I wish it was as "easy" as Batman! Haha I'm all about the Shadowgate aesthetic, so I would be down for the newer one, the one on the N64 and the VR one! I did hear the N64 one isn't that great, but from what I saw it looks really atmospheric, at the very least.

@@Bitsandglory Haha! Mate, don't we all wish it was that easy... doesn't stop us _believing_ we can do it, though! Wishing you good luck vibes from here! Interesting, yeah I should probably look into some reviews about the N64 one and watch some videos on it first before buying, huh. While I'm at it, I'll take a look into _Shadowgate VR,_ too. As long as any game controls well and the atmosphere plays a great role in it, I too am down.

I remember I used to watch A LOT of Arcus playing this game when he was after the WR… I beat the game in 10 minutes and I thought to myself “it’s not that hard!” Than I tried myself and never again! lmao But I still like it a lot! Someday I’ll give it a fair shot!

@@SchmittWylde I'm not sure which game I would consider the toughest out of the trio of this, Castlevania & Ninja Gaiden. At this point I clearly know Batman the best so it's not that hard to me, I feel like there's many more cheap deaths in Castlevania & Ninja Gaiden, but Batman you have the ability to just get bodied by some enemies & bosses. All great and hopefully I can no death Castlevania & Ninja Gaiden this year too!

On recent systems developers is starting to duties copulation collections on newer systems I wish Adele doing with the Batman games with the older Batman games there's some good ones like that Batman beat him up on the Super Nintendo and there's a couple other good ones that's a good one Batman and Robin I swear that game is like the early Dark Souls

I think I managed several deathless runs of this game, enemies and bosses die easy versus the batarang too.

I would say many bosses are cheaply designed,death penalty makes sure you restart if you fight a boss

Eh, the only boss I have an issue with is "The Electrocutioner". I find that design to be pretty poor. I'm sure there's a way to not take damage against him, but for the most part that fight is a "go into this with close to full health or else". Most of the other bosses have fairly easy patterns when you learn them.

This is a good game, but its not hard. Cabal, Ghosts and ghoblins, Tmnt 1, battle tank, these are hard games.

Eh, I would say it’s hard. I also beat TMNT 1 without dying, same with Batman. I think TMNT 1 is mostly a memorization game. Either way, it’s subjective of course. Thanks for watching.
