I remember working on this storyline back in the day, this was towards the end of my tenure as the penciller on Robin. Good times.

Hi Staz! How about you come on the show next month!

@@sotdude7 Thanks Pete, but unfortunately I still work on a computer that's so old it's practically steam-powered, & such advances in technology as web-cams are still decades in the future for me. But I'll be sure to remain a regular viewer, both here & on Sea Of Tranquility (which is where I first found your work). Have a great festive season sir.

Great show, love the quick hitters on story arcs! If you haven’t already, check out the Jeff Loeb / Tim Sale Batman trades; The Long Halloween, Dark Victory, and Haunted Knight. Great stories and fantastic artwork!

Not the biggest fan of that era and storyline but still have my couple of No Man's Land numbers my father bought me as a kid in early 00s in mint condition. I like Jim Aparo's old school looking pencils and Damaggio's cover art.

I'm a Marvel guy and never much got into DC short of the films but these really got me intrigued.

Note for those interested: the new trade versions of No Man's Land contain 4 volumes, not 5. There are also two volumes called "road to no man's land" which has stories between "cataclysm" and "no man's land". So that's 7 trades total (cataclysm, road, and the main story) for the complete story. My favorite Batman story ever is called "The Long Halloween". I recommend it to any new Batman reader as it is pretty self-contained and does not require much knowledge about DC comics.

Hey Pete, really enjoy seeing you reviewing some modern books. I do disagree about the modern Marvel runs, a lot great books to check out if you’re interested. If you haven’t yet, maybe check out Jason Aaron’s Thor run, great story and great artwork. On the gritty side Garth Ennis’s Punisher Max run might be the best on the character.

One more thing: DC released the Road to No Man's Land omnibus last month. It's a behemoth of a book. For people wanting to read this storyline, there's a start right there.

DC was magnificent right after Crisis on Infinite Earths. If you haven’t read Grant Morrison’s Animal run, the revamped Justice League series, Hellblazer and Sandman, you really need to find ‘em.

That was a great story right next to Legacy and Contagium

Another great story arc showing why The Batman is such a legend with wonderful stories told and those still yet to tell. Thanks, Pete, for taking some of your holiday time to be sure fellow geezers can be entertained with content.

would have been a good time to bring in Batman Incorporated Corp (or whatever they are called) to fill in for him until he could come back.

Very cool arc. "Owls" is my favorite, but this is stellar as well. I was surprised how well it flowed with all the different writers. Good job by all. Thanks for the video, Pete!

A great story arc. Some of the best stuff with Nightwing, Oracle, and Huntress. I also give it major points for introducing Cass.

Yep, DC got better stories after Crisis on Infinite Earths. Before that, only a handful are worth reading.
