I've been reading Batman for most of my life and this is some of the best writing on the character I have ever seen. It's cerebral and tender. It truly gets under the skin of the character as a whole. Sometimes people quip with the popular Batman banter. For example: "He has no powers" "He's rich and wastes his money on jumping around rooftops" etc etc The true beauty of this story is it simply explains that Batman isn't happy. He isn't a rich guy who chooses to be Batman for kicks. It's truly an examination of his compulsion, his fear and the psychosis that makes him who he is. It really is brilliant stuff. And genuinely moving.

I think what Tom King is going to "try" to show is that Batman doesn't have to give up being the Batman with Selina. I think that's the point of the whole thing. Everybody is saying that Batman would have to step down or his father is saying that Bats should let the Batman die, but we know that Bruce is not going to let the Batman die. So I think that Bruce will figure this out that he doesn't have to give up being the Batman and if there is anybody that he can be married to and STILL be Batman, that person is Selina. Give it time to see where the story goes.

I love this so much because it's so relatable to be. Instead of batman, its solitude, Ive been alone my whole life and idk how to be anything but a single homebody. My mom wants me to find a life, get married, have kids, find love. They all want me too, but I'm scared, because ties break, relationships end, and the most important thing is idk how to love someone, idk how to hug and show affection, care, all i know is work and solitude... because the truth is, just like bruce. Im just a scared child that lost his father, his greatest roll model and hero, to a family divorce. Im 21 now, but to see batman take a step that big at a shot of normal life, something im terrified of doing, it made me happy. And I haven't felt that in years. I loved this story and I will always keep reading it.

I don't even read them, never have, more so than I admire them for their artwork. I want to read a story about Batman dying exactly how you mentioned it. He dies like anybody else. It'd be so perfect for a man perceived to be the beast of the night, the Batman, to just be shot. To be killed simply and as easily as any other person. All that'd make the story great is a simple conversation between Batman and all of the Bat-Family. The "When I die" talk. You tie that in-between the seconds of the bullet flying through the air and as it hits his skull and it'd be beautiful. The most sad and perfect way to kill Batman. A man doesn't die on some space-ship or in an alternate timeline or dimension. He doesn't run in to battle with no weapons or anything of use against war criminals and aliens. A man dies, a human dies, due to human things. Guns, age, a mistake. The only way the Batman can die, is by being human.

What I thought really made the proposal neat was what happened recently at Free Comic Book Day. At my local comic book shop, a couple were cosplaying as different characters throughout the day. The guy dressed as Batman proposed to his girlfriend who was dressed as Catwoman and she said yes. It made local news.

What are you even talkin about...... The big Rebirth event that will eventually happen? Superboy prime is literally irrelevant and has nothing to do with any of it, He like doesn't even exist anymore. The "big event" is doomsday Clock. It's Superman vs the Watchmen. Well, the whole league can the Watchmen really.

In the past, there have been versions of Bat/Cat being together and crime fighting together as a couple. IF Batman gets married at this stage of the game, to be honest, the only one that can be with him AND he can still be Batman is Selina Kyle. Every time Batman and Cat have "dated" or Bruce and Selina were together in main canon, it was because she was reformed. And we all know now that she didn't kill those 237 people. So this could work. N52 did a horrible disservice to mostly all of the DC Power Couples. Putting people together that really shouldn't be together and pulling apart that really shouldn't be apart. Rebirth is trying to correct that.
