Michelle Pfeiffer in her prime was uniquely beautiful. She was at her best as Catwoman whose darkness and two-edged personality make her the best Catwoman ever. Hathaway did a good job but nowhere near as mentally disturbed or attractively enigmatic as Pfeiffer.

I really don't consider all 4 of the 90s movies together. There were the two Burton movies and the two Schumacher movies. They were a lot like Bond movies where they changed main actor and crew but kept little tidbits. Judi Dench in Bond and Alfred and Commissioner Gordon in Batman.

As a 11 year old boy back in 1992 I thought this film was great. It was one of those pictures were I actually fell in love with one of the characters ( Michelle ) & thought she was a goddess. Tim Burton did a awesome job making Gotham feel like it had character.

Tim Burton is the only Director so far to get that Gotham City is itself it’s own character. I’ve never liked the Gotham in the Nolan films nor BvS. I get he was trying to make it feel as real as possible but Tim’s 2 films have the far superior Gotham cities.

Well I wouldn’t blame Schumacher , the studios just wanted a different approach and felt Batman returns was too dark to market to kids and I think burton planned to go even darker with Batman forever but Schumacher was almost asked to remember it is for kids . It was almost like he was being instructed on how to direct it , I like Batman forever but it doesn’t have the same energy and qualities of Batman and Batman returns and yes as you said , blame the offended parents , they were the ones that forced the studio to not back burton
