The older I got the more I love this movie. Sure, it wasn't really designed for kids but the first one was pretty dark too. As usual the whiny parents and fast food companies like McDonalds made sure that the next sequels would look more like toy commercials than actual movies. Batman Returns is a work of art.

All the actresses who have played catwoman after this must've been so terrified to even make the role their own as Michelle really did create one amazing portrayal of the character. That suit must've been one of the most gruelling things to wear. You can see how tight it look on screen it showed off her figure so well and it was just so perfect. She suffered for her art and its now so iconic. She should be proud.

Michelle's version of Catwoman will always be the best just because she brought just enough crazy sensuality to the role and the whip was a good addition. But looking back I wish they showcased more of her acrobatic/gymnastics skills while traversing the city rooftops which is sort of how Catwoman in the comics gets around at night. Seeing her slowly climb that wall was a bit weird.

Micheal Keaton had neck problems from not being able to move his head and had trouble moving in general sometimes (a problem that wasn’t fixed until Christian Bale complained to his costumer in Batman Begins about his mobility), neither he nor Michelle Pheiffer could pee, and Michelle Pheiffer said she had to be vacuumed into the suit and her claws got caught on everything. there're plenty of Latex Catsuits out there. Just get yourself one. Quality begins around 300 Euros / Dollars. Good manufacturers are Simon O., Libidex or Andromeda Latex. Then you need a hood. Around 20-50 bucks. Budget should be around 400-500. Sexshop suits are much cheaper but also very shitty.

Congrats to the costume designer for coming up with something original. The patchwork catsuit added something extra that fitted the character perfectly. Not quite sure a regular catsuit from the comics would've had the same effect.

....the TV program 60 MINUTES did a feature and they did use the original 1940s outfit with the full skirt etc....but of course the movie went with the genius latex....and it's become iconic....and while she suffered in it....she created a pop culture goddess dark queen of twisted ambivalence....more power to her.....they have come a long way with costumes since then....i wish she would do the role again....

I say that there should have been a better costume design for Catwoman since Michelle Pfeiffer said that she couldn't breathe while wearing the suit. Not to mention that there should have been a different characterization for Selina Kyle/Catwoman for the franchise, as well as having her own movie, should the franchise was made better with Michael Keaton still as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Tim Burton as an executive producer (not as the director), Dennis O'Neil as a consultant, etc.
