when I was a child I was crazy about this film, full of lights, the batmobile all colored but at the same time dark, I think you have to take the film for what it is, 2 hours of pure action and commercial, still today I see it objectively I know it's not a great batman movie, but subjectively it's always nice to see it

Interestingly enough, the classic black and blue Nightwing suit had been introduced in the comics a year before this movie was released. What we might witnessing here is cooperate synergy. Of course, the Nightwing symbol is painted red because it represents Robin. Which of course predates the New 52 Nightwing suit by 14 years.

No, instantaneous freezing is actually less damaging to tissue than slow freezing. The thing which destroys your cells are the ice crystals which form and puncture your cell membranes, and the most ice crystals form when you freeze something slowly. If you use some kind of antifreeze it can prevent crystals, which is why animals who live at subzero temperatures in the north pole have a type of antifreeze in their blood.

I honestly enjoyed this movie more than Batman Forever. I know that it’s not a good movie, not by a longshot, but there are some things that i liked in here: • Arnold Schwarzenegger and Uma Thurman as the villains are very fun to watch • The music is pretty good • The scene near the end where Freeze gives Batman the cure is the scene where there’s decent acting • Nice Set Design Also, i respect Joel Schumacher (rest in peace) when he apologized to the audience in the behind the scenes and was very sincere and that made me see the film in an another light. He was just an employee, the culprits were the WB executives at the time that ordered him to make this a 2-hour commercial. Blame them!

The film may have been bad, but at least it wasn't bad because of hostility or even issues within the production team, unlike more recent movies (Josstice League). In fact, complaints over the cartoonish script aside, people apparently got quite well while making this film.

Considering producer Peter McGregor-Scott was not a director, I thought he did a pretty good job at this whole sequence when the production was tight in the schedule and Schumacher was directing another part at the time. I like how they made the editing trick of Clooney saying 'Shield' yet he is saying 'Vate' (The last part of 'Shield Activate'). I still find it a very entertaining movie after all these years. It did what it said on the tin and Warner Bros wanted a family friendly film.

I went out into the the frozen fields of Erie PA and recorded 4 hours of ice of various thickness, and frozen snow banks, ice cracking etc. and then organized them as a library. I was commissioned to record the collection by sound editor Lantz Brown and the film's sound supervisor Bruce Stambler for the audio post editors at Sound Storm in LA,

@@commanderkeen3787 I went to a remote area of Erie PA at 11pm-5am. The snow had melted and refroze on a patch of land that was a large parking lot, yard with various HI and LOW surfaces. I found all kinds of thickness of ice... frozen amidst crunchy snow banks. I had a portable digital SONY Dat recorder and a mic boom with two SCHOEPS condenser mics. I used a shovel and broom handle to crack and pry sheets of ice to get long cracking creaking sounds. I did everything I could think of to create every unique sound I could discover by experimenting. I had some ice that was 3/4 inch thick... and all the way down to paper thick. I grabbed handfuls of ice pieces and recorded them sliding down banks of frozen hard snow piles from the ice plowing. Back at the studio, I edited all the similar types of ice effects into groups... and editing most of the silent spaces out of the files and created various organized series and categories of sounds. In the end, I had about 2.5 hours of really great ice. Organized, logged and titled. I created some special cues by layering ice FX samples 2 and 5 deep to create interesting action or unique events. Everything was in clear, detailed stereo. An impressive library of ice. I licensed the ice collection to SOUND STORM... who was doing the audio post production work on this film. It was a lot of fun but I remember that cold night... out in the middle of nowwhere. But close to a family member who knew I was looking for freshly frozen ice.... and he called me alerting me that conditions near him were ripe for ice. Turned out perfect! It was cold. And I was very estatic when I finished in the morning and drove like a madman 65 miles to get home and into my warm bed to sleep!!!

@@filmdirt I don't know. I saw the film... and it was decent. It had some high points. It wasn't my fav Batman film. Compared to a lot of the self indulgent bullshit on Netflix and others today... it was AT LEAST entertaining. I wouldn't consider it a piece of literature script wise. And I thought it evoked a comic book feel in many ways. The Director, Joel Schumacher officially apologized for Batman & Robin ahead of the film's 20th anniversary. LOL. But think about it... there are a lot of films that plain outright SUCK HORSE CRAP in comparison. Seeing Arnold Schwarzenegger running around in that Mister Freeze costume was worth at least a small popcorn and coke. Schwarzenegger was paid $25 million dollars for his role in the film.

It's interesting that Barbara/Batgirl is a composite character here. She's Alfred's niece instead of Commissioner Jim Gordon's daughter. Also, she's British instead of American in "Batman and Robin". Which may make her an inspiration for Elle Woods in "Legally Blonde".

Arnold Schwarzenegger did this film literally just for the huge paycheck that he recieved. He probably didn't even research the character. I saw one of the retrospective reviews of this film and apparently he would have only done the film if they paid him like 12-20million dollars if I am not mistaken. He was a big star by then, demanded quite a lot.

The reason their suits have a black and silver color is because they were wearing ice armor. According to the trivia, there was a scene showing Mr. Freeze trying to freeze Batman but the freeze gun had no effect on the suit due to the silver plating on the suit and cape. It’s the same plating on the Bathammer. However the scene does make an appearance in the comic adaptation.

Hi. I don't understand your comment really well I apologize but if I remember correctly, is established in the begining of the movie that people can be frozen for 11 min. After 11 minutes, if they don't get defrosted, they die. I hope that helps? 👍
