@@mariomario820 I was there too. I still am, but it's getting better. Slowly but surely I feel less and less dependent. What helped me was realizing the ungodly amount of time I wasted on that shit, time I could've spent studying, building interests, socializing, etc. I kept track of how many times I'd do it and based on the estimate time I spent I calculated the total time I wasted. But it's too late to get that time back so all I can do is avoid that from happening again. Something that helped me was meeting people and getting new hobbies. The reason why most of us developed an addiction is cause we spend too much time home alone, and to stave off some boredom we rely on the cheap dopamine hits that porn gives us. Try spending a day out, doing whatever you want. Go on a hike, meet people, do some sports, anything really. You'll notice you won't get urges(or at least not as severe) cause your mind is on something else, something productive. All of those things I listed also release dopamine, but they're much healthier methods. Something else that helped me was gradually decreasing the amount of times I watched porn rather than going cold turkey off the bat. If you do it once a day, first try slowing down to once every other day. Then once every 3 days, then 4, etc. And eventually you won't need it anymore. Stay strong bro, I love you and I know exactly what you're going through. Just don't give up on yourself and remember that recovery is a slow process.

I remember growing up, no one would believe me that I was addicted to pornography, and they would call it “fake.” The only people I could go to was a therapist for support because I couldn’t get it elsewhere. I'm glad people realize this too. But the thing is, thousands know, even the ones who don't admit it. A lot of society is swayed by social ideology. In Plain English that means things that seem acceptable or mainstream ideas. I think it's pretty obvious WHY many don't want to acknowledge the damage adult film and any off shoots of it is doing to both men and women. For me, it's pretty obvious just like with the Tabaco industry in decades prior, realizing that your produce/service can be classified as an addiction puts a damper on money and agenda's around said subject. We recognize Gambling, just the act to bet, as an addiction, but not adult film watching? Odd ain't it? But consider that the adult film industry is worth 97 Billion Dollars. Do you not think people lobby, rub shoulders and make sure nobody talks about it in Politics anymore? or does anything that brings that truth to the surface? We even have Sex addict groups for recovery and such, but not for Adult film consumption which is more of a thing than that. The second thing is, it's a dirty secret people feel guilty about so they don't really want to be exposed for being someone who watch it and is addicted to it just like most addictions AND there are those who don't care and WANT to indulge in the addiction regardless so they won't stand up or even want Adult films and everything like it to get on the radar on a social level where it becomes taboo like it use to be or start to gain traction in an area like Politics. You're not alone, you never will be in this issue. I'm just stating what I believe is the obvious reason this addiction will not ever be classified properly despite all the scientific fact around it and even it's impact on Kids who end up viewing adult stuff early and the impact on their minds once it starts. This vid touches on something, "we're human and humans are prone to making mistakes" Yes, we are flawed, and sexual lust is an easy flaw to manipulate. I believe there should be a conversation about what do we do with companies and entities, etc. that exploit human flaws for their gain.

I don't even know why you brought that up. The porn industry is a corrupt and sinister industry that needs to be taken care of I agree, but that has nothing to do with the science of porn. It's like blaming medicine for the malpractice of a single hospital. 5. People feel guilty about watching porn because of media like this. When you go around flaunting the whole "Porn is bad and you are sick! You are really sick and diseased, and you are ruining your life by watching it!" may contribute to the widespread shame and guilt that people have around the subject? Imagine your parents thinking this way, then having to say something to them, it would be nerve wracking and possibly socially dangerous. Personally, I feel no guilt, because I wasn't raised to feel guilty about sex and the human libido. Btw, the reason it was so taboo originally was religious lobbying trying to reduce the amount of sexual deviancy we experience in our "promiscuous" society. Weird how Utah, a extremely religious state is trying to characterize porn as a public health issue, while states who are not that religious, don't seem to mind. 6. I'm sorry but there is no "scientific fact" lingering around. It's all speculation, claims without proper evidence, religious authorities making claims and trying their best to suppress porn, and lost men on the internet who cannot take responsibility for their actions. I've been to NoFap, your Brain on Porn and fight the new drug. All of them are lackluster, and completely indirect, and unable to actually push this discussion along. Especially NoFap, that is a complete and utter charlatan trick. There is absolutely no evidence that abstaining for masturbation gives your benefits. Gary Wilson, you probably heard of him, was the leading force of your brain on porn. Have you read his book? Completely lackluster in all forms. Anecdotal evidence, constantly quoting redditers and other people most of the time, and not providing any sound evidence for any claim he makes. Hes a nauseating charlatan and everyone knows he is. So many different things stacked themselves against me, it felt crushing and unbearable. And then I met her. I won't get into specifics but over the last few years I've looked at pornographic stuff i never should have, some really taboo stuff, i even lost a huge number of friends once they found out, it's so bad i can't say what it is and i feel awful for it, but I'm seeking therapy and have friends around me who know about it but accept me anyway because they realize i made a mistake that i regret and still regret to this day, to those struggling with this addiction or those who watch very taboo stuff like i do and feel ashamed for it, please know you aren't alone and we can overcome this with supportive friends and therapy

As a Christian, my having battled this truly discouraging and dilapidating addiction for more than half of my short life (currently in my early 20s), it is always reassuring to see this side of the internet. The one that isn't so carnal and self-centered... but rather taking time to help inspire others and do good. Really is something that should be de stigmatized. Plenty of people can view "spicy" content in a healthy way. It can definitely be problematic if it is all anyone ever does and it takes over their life. But viewing "spicy" content if done in a healthy way that isn't destructive (in moderation) can lead to a better understanding of ones own desires.

very much appreciate the resources dude It's not my character to have such an addiction. Yet, when I'm in a healthy loving relationship with a significant other, that addiction goes away. It's about the love, consideration, understanding POV and support we have between us to help motivate us to do and not to do certain things. I have been (currently) single for quite a while and can't remember when I was more than satisfied I no longer (at the time) had to no longer consider even having the urge to pull up the HUB. However, it's not always going to work the way I hope considering that I'm single. I have to fight my on battle in order to win the battle.

Batman is one of my favorite superheroes because even though sometimes his storylines can get a bit ridiculous, for the most part they're grounded and somewhat relatable. Being a such a powerful hero without any special abilities other than your pure intellect and resources is just so inspiring. I have had a porn addiction for like 8 years. I have been 18 for several months now, but other than school I haven't done much with myself. I tend to use porn and masturbation as a way to either cope or to entertain myself. Doesn't matter what kind of porn it is, I'll probably be prone to watching it. Even though this was made with an AI, it's probably what I needed to hear right now, and I thank you for making this, especially since Batman is one of my favorites and I've had this problem for a very long time. For those of you struggling with porn addiction, let me tell you something. If you can get help, then do it, because this may not be something you should do alone. I've passed the point of no return. Porn ruined my marriage and my mental state. I exposed myself to so much so often, that I've literally burned up that part of my brain. You'll get to a point where porn and real women do nothing for you. I'm sure you've heard this before. But for real, stop while you still can. I have to watch porn for hours just to even get a semblance of an erection. If I'm with a woman, I have to try and think about porn to maintain an erection if I get one. I know I don't have a physical problem as I am in decent shape. It's also said that if you wake up with morning wood which I still do. That it is a sign of good penile health. So my problem is purely mental. I hate that even still now, that I'll look at porn out of boredom or habit. I'm still not sure which one it is. But I don't get an erection. My routine used to be get an erection and then start. Now I have to manually manipulate myself to get an erection and then start. Then barely feel it if I finish. Sometimes I just quit. So yeah, get help, stop it.
