The reason for such a long gap between episodes featuring Mr. Freeze is that the creators were so proud of "Heart of Ice" that they wanted to leave it as a stand-alone episode.

1. Calvin is 100% right. The villain in this episode is based on Walt Disney. A play on Disney's "Tomorrowland" and EPCOT (Experimental Prototype Community Of Tomorrow) stuff, as well as urban legends of Disney's head being frozen and hidden somewhere in Disney World. 2. This episode also overwhelmingly seems to be the inspiration for the original BioShock games. The villain is a clear prototype for Andrew Ryan, Oceana is Rapture itself, and his robot and the armored/domed Mr. Freeze powersuits are the Big Daddies, while Freeze's ice power is a precursor to the elemental powers of plasmids.

The flying bat toy was a reference to Bat Mite which is Batman‘s equivalent to Mr. Mxyzptlk. Bat mite is also a 5th dimensional imp.

Grant Walker does not appear again in the animated series. He does appear in several issues of the comic book Batman: Gotham Adventures, as the "second Mr. Freeze". In those comics, Walker escapes the ice after several years of imprisonment, an experience which drives him insane, and goes on a rampage, including kidnapping a team of Wayne Enterprises scientists commissioned to find a cure for Freeze's condition.

Karl Rossum was played by William Sanderson who also played J.F. Sebastian in Blade Runner where he also referred to his robot toy creations as his friends. He was also famous for playing Larry on Newhart, alongside his brothers Daryl and Daryl.

I can't tell if its a rip off or coincidence, but while this villain took inspiration from Walt Disney, I think someone was copying the others homework. Because this definitely reminds me of Mr House from Fallout New Vegas and Andrew Ryan and Rapture from Bioshock.

The long-awaited sequel to Heart of Ice, the creators deathly afraid to tarnish it with a mediocre follow-up but fortunately that wasn't the case. Some of the most interesting episodes like Joker's Wild result when one of Gotham's upper crust takes a personal interest in one of the rogues. Similar to some of the moments in Arkham city where Batman and Freeze are enforced allies and could have been friends under better circumstances.

The Schumacher films are good movies as throwbacks to Adam West, but they're aesthetically and (mostly) tonally inconsistent with the Burton films. Loved the casual references to my favorite movie of all time though (TPM). 😸

My problem with Batman and Robin was never that they make Batman Camp or goofy, anybody that read the comic knows that you can have that and make a fun movie, my problem is that they take a incredible complex and sad story like that of Mr Freeze and you make him a big dumb oneliner character, even the sad backstory is just comical with Arnold performance. Is the same problem i have with Thor Love and Thunder, give me all the silly thor you want, but dont use the "god butcher" arc, one of the darkest god of thunder story lines and just try to make it a comedy
