Traded a Barley cameo for two Lumpz cameos? I guess I'll accept it. Either way, solid video.

This is one of my all time favorite games for the NES! TOP 5 game for me. And yes, the soundtrack is badass! I also agree with you, this is an essential in the NES library.

It's my favorite NES game of all time. I love it.

I always enjoy playing Batman. I'm not very good at it, but I think it's because I get caught playing it the wrong way and playing it the way *I* want it to play, if that makes sense. The points you made in your video are so spot on; there's a way you need to learn how to play it and if you adhere to it, it makes the game a lot easier to get through. But if you're stubborn like me, you'll only get so far lol Nice work, Bazzers. As usual.

I have such fond memories renting this from the local IGA grocery store. I love purple Batman too! It’s one of the few NES games I still have in my collection. really need to try this one again. I always struggled with the wall jump. I never realized this had unlimited continues. Great review man!

Absolutely phenomenal game. Easily on my top 10 NES games list, for sure.

@@braselthegamer ugh yeah pretty rough. That was one of the better ones from the first season. But still, lots of problems with bad camera shots, terrible editing.

FUCK! Are you kidding me? There's no modern way to play this game? That is a CRIME! How did I not know that??? Ok, with that little rant out of the way, I agree with you 100% on everything you said here. I mean, the last time I was at your place, you guys went to the store or something and I hung out for a bit. I saw your Analogue NT NES sitting there and thought... what game should I play? I went over to your shelf and grabbed Batman because... Well, like you said, it fucking rocks and is essential NES gaming. My experience with this game started at my buddies house down the street. His mom let us watch the movie when it came out on VHS (my mom didn't know and was pissed when she found out I saw it). We both loved the movie so much, so it was no surprise that his parents got him this game that Xmas. And we proceeded to play it for YEARS. And NEVER BEAT IT! Like you, I didn't beat it till I was an adult. And I had to use save states to figure out the Jokers pattern. So I didn't beat it legit. I plan to remedy that. But yeah man, the music spanks (do they say that on TikTok?), the graphics are great for the NES and the game plays tight. You are right about the wall jumping. That is the only sort of iffy mechanic when it comes to precise control. I am pretty damn good at it from 30 years of practice at this point, but even now I find myself missing jumps that I swear I should have made. But it's a small thing in what is most certainly one of the best overall games on the NES. Thanks for making this vid man, this game deserves it.

One of my favorite NES games. I never knew flashing enemies couldn’t hurt you, I always just killed the enemies first, usually wasting my ammo or batarangs. And I’m glad you finally went back and beat him, I’m not going to lie, I only remember beating the game once as a kid and I had to use a Game Genie to do so. Also yes the music “slaps” for sure. Also I love the NECA figure in the game case replica.
@braselthegamer3 жыл бұрын
I think had I the money around the time it was more widely available, I would have bought that NECA figure.

Great video Bras! The graphics are outstanding...from backgrounds to animation. The moving elements of the backgrounds really add so much life with really limited assets. IIRC the sequel actually had even better graphics with some parallax thrown in too!

I still need to play that one.

This game does slap. I found the last 2 levels to be brutal but like you said it helps to have unlimited continues. The game boy version of this game is pretty good too. Batman has a gun in that game and there’s some schump levels as well. It ain’t easy either but it’s beatable and cheap.

I'll have to check it out.

Great video, dude. This game can give some early 16-bit games a run for their money. The music, in particular. My one complaint about this game would be the sudden difficulty spike of the Joker fight. Have you played the follow up, "Batman: Return of the Joker"?
@braselthegamer3 жыл бұрын
I have not played it yet. I would love to. I hear it's good. Maybe not as good as this game, but still fun.

As a game, Batman: RotJ is not as good as Batman. The audio is incredible. And the visuals on an entirely different level. :)
