Solid list. The Ninja Gaiden track on #3 is one of my all time favorites. All of the music in that game is top tier, it was so ridiculously ahead of it's time. The enter password music for either MegaMan 2 or MegaMan 3 was also a really good one. Koopa Troopa's theme when you when you win from Mario Kart 1 was also a good standout

Super Metroid is the better game, hands down. SOTN is very good and has amazing music and graphics, but...Super Metroid has better character progression (SOTN's is broken). Super Metroid does a better job of using abilities to gate you while also hiding sequence breaks. SOTN also has tons of junk items that clutter the game. I still say it's a very good game, it just doesn't beat Super Metroid.

This game's origins on the ZX Spectrum make a lot of sense because the first time I played it, I was surprised by how "slow" it was compared to other similar themed NES shooters. Also, maybe it's just me, but the odd shape of the ship always reminded me of the weird baby thing from David Lynch's Eraserhead, haha!

Nice to know that it works well. I was looking into wireless options for the NES because I was considering setting mine up on a high shelf (which would be a nuisance for wired play even with the cords being long), and discovered this exists. Obviously there's also stuff like the bluetooth version of the Hyperkin Cadet (an NES controller clone), but there is a certain charm to using the retro peripherals when they work.

This video is fun! And it has a topic I'm passionate about: 8-bit music. I'd suggest looking no further than the (great) games developed by Natsume for the NES/Famicom, and you'll find real bangers, like, for example, the 1st stage in "Shadow of the Ninja", 3rd stage in "Dragon Fighter" or something else from "Abadox", "Shatterhand" or "S.C.A.T.". I'd like to mention some other favorites of mine: stage 1-1 in "Ninja Gaiden II", stage 1 in "Kick Master" and stage 1 in "Little Nemo: The Dream Master".

Congrats on 10 years. I think we're about the same age. As I'm sure you've noticed, the years go by faster and faster and faster. I hope you're where you wanted to be at 10 years ago, or at least close to it. I never made it far in Chrono Trigger. Didn't grow up with a SNES, had a Genesis instead. I do love that the first thing you're tasked with doing in the game is going to a Fair though. That setting along with the music creates such a warm and welcoming environment and mood.

Hands down probably my favorite SNES RPG ever. amazing visuals, an epic soundtrack, and love the various dual and triple techs your characters can learn making for some interesting combat. yeah I think my only issue is that stupid racing minigame... otherwise definitely a 10/10 RPG and one of the all time greats. Hopefully fingers crossed square enix gets around to an HD2D version of it like the dragon quest games are getting. In the interim IDK if you've seen or played sea of stars but it's extremely chrono trigger like! I played it on game pass and enjoyed it so much I just picked up the switch physical edition. it's a fun one, for sure.

Great video, Bras. I played Chrono Trigger when it first came out, way back when, but didn't play through it until a few years back on the DS. I never did get a 'good' ending. I can't believe I waited so long to play it and see it to the end. Definitely one of those that I would love to go back and experience again. It really is a great game.
