I gotta say, Batwoman really pissed me off in this story in regards to Luke. Why must you lose something to want to be a hero? well, it's an easy way to give someone motivation. even in marvel, spider-man lost his uncle ben and he suffered that loss because he didn't act when he could have. batman lost his parents and he wanted to make sure that didn't happen to anyone else. loss is a huge thing, but it is pretty overused. but i'm also not a comic fan aside from batman and spider-man, so i don't know how prevalent it is everywhere else. i'm probably wrong!

Well-written or not, this pissed me off. I am so sick and bloody tired of "Batman (or other hero, but Batman seems to get it more) is responsible for every evil think in Gotham" stories. How many more people would be dead if the Joker or Scarecrow only had to deal with the cops? Every one of them (except the First Victim) were harmed because Batman WASN'T there at the time stop Joker, or Poison Ivy, or the Scarecrow. Unless something's changed in the New 52/Rebirth, Clayface isn't even responsible for his situation, much less Mudface. Blaming the hero solves nothing and it doesn't sound like any of them were called out on it. Batman and The Doctor (from Doctor Who) both seem to deal with this stigma that if they disappeared it evil would go away. There's a great episode of the Animated Series that proves otherwise, but this theme doesn't seem to end. I'm just getting tired of it. It's not the majority granted but it keeps coming up and I'm sick of hearing it. Superheroes stop supervillains and unless they're incompetent they aren't responsible for what villains do, they stop what villains do, or at least minimize the damage as best they can. End of story for me.

this new writer for Batman is by far the best hands down no one even comes close to taking Batman to new levels changing his story line and actually seen what he thinks about people and how he affect the world. the depth of the story and the action brings back my love for Batman and proved again why it's called Detective Comics. The thing is that most of Batmans villains were created by him. Thats the beauty of the Batman mythos his villains are sometimes created by him and almost always have a vendetta against him where is there a Batman story where a villain is trying to take over the world just for the sake of it or trying to do something evil for the sake of being evil. Apart from the crime syndicate like the Penguin, Black mask etc. etc. alot of Batmans villains target him and it puts everyone at risk. So Stephanies thinking isnt completely wrong, this story arc is very interesting and has some really good development for the Bat Family.

But the thing is that alot of these villains Batman created in a sense. Look at Joker, if Batman didnt corner Joker and made him fall into the vat would Joker exist today? and then would people be scarred by laughing gas? the whole point of this story is to make people think about the Dichotomy of the Batman persona. Yes Batman protects the city but he perpetuates the problems too, just by being Batman he is a target for new villains to come up and wreak havoc on the city. Idealistically he could hang up the mantle and join the police force or something or help the city as Bruce Wayne, improve Gothams security and infrastructure. In a way what Batman does is very selfish and is done to hold down his own psychology and problems of losing his parents. That is one way to look at the Batman and this story explores that and how a young girl would react when people bring up this point about Batman.

Detective Comics seem to be focused on Batman, the mentor/teacher, and how he affects everyone around him The Batman Comics on the other hand focus on Batman himself and what he feels internally and how situations shape him Finally, All-Star Batman (my favorite Batman comics) focus on Batman's relationships with his villains and how the villains' stories are complex, and though Batman fights against them, he tries to empathize with them as well.

Tevya Smolka there was and is a point to be made about "vigilantism", but as demonstrated multiple times, Bruce letting the legacy of Batman "die" causes much more harm than good to the city, especially living in a world where meta-humans exist and the constant threat your planet coming under global assault from an alien empire is quite a common occurrence.

I like the dramatic reading but more often than not it just makes me feel like im watching a soap opera. Can we have more background details on the artists/writers/comic book history and less of you doing overly hookey voices. Its sooooo bad when you do voices. Im referring to some of your videos that ive seen in the past. Thoughtful reads with good inflection is so much more interesting than excessively dramatic screaming and rushing through lines. Example : " AND THEN AN EXPLOSION GOES OFF..!!! *breathless*" @ 4:22 , sounds a little childish vs " And , then, an explosion goes off." , the thoughful slow delivery gives weight and importance to the event This video was alot better in this terms. This is *Detective Comics* where it's an ensemble of Gotham's heroes, the one with Bane and Catwoman was the *Batman* title where naturally it focuses on just Batman, and All-Star Batman is just *All-Star Batman* with Duke Thomas and whatever Scott Snyder wants to write about.

Right now, with this Batman run, this is what the comic industry needs. We don't need political correctness, or left or right ideals jammed down our throats at every turn. We need interesting stories with depth. We need characters we can somewhat relate to. We need good development. Batman delivers on this right now. As a life long Marvel fan, and as someone who was never into DC all that much... I can honestly say that I've lost interest in the "ALL NEW" Marvel. But DC is doing things right.

Steph has a point, at least half of Batman's enemies exist because of his actions. More villains keep being created because of him. Sure a world without Batman wouldn't be perfect but one where Batman never showed up in Gotham would have been better in many ways.

In a way I understand Stephanie for loosing Tim drake but she's not the only one who misses him, the entire bat family misses and grieves for him (even though he's not dead). Spoiler should understand that they all volunteer to help Batman and what they do is important to keep Gotham to not be subjected to the criminals of Gotham. Stephanie should never blame Batman and company and exposing their identities is not only blackmail but an emotional move and not a good move. I understand her grief but it still doesn't give her the right for this move.

is it still greg capullo and scott snyder doing batman rebirth? I know they did new 52 and were by far the best part of the new 52 in my opinion. Btw when are they gonna adress the 3 jokers thing, I know they're trying to use him less but it just seems like a big plot point they just kinda forgot about.
