wasnt a death battle, at first. Just showing that the Society was no joke and were perfectly capable defending themselves. They were without saying being portrayed as DC Justice League who are very overpowered compared to Marvel. Hulk getting a thrashing from sun God isnt out of character. Hulk gets knocked down a lot and usually get back up. Tony got outplayed by a flash like speedster who may not be as smart as Tony but like flash the speedster probably could think a whole lot times faster than Tony. If anyone is out of Character its the Societies Batman. Good thing namor took him out right away because who knows what would've happened if "Batman" was the last to go down. Well the story would've came to a short end so the writer sniped him. jokes aside i believe this was written fairly even though the home team won.

@noir-2143 ай бұрын
I hate most of Marvels modern event comics it's just been the same ever since the original Civil War, heroes fighting heroes. That's not what events are. There are big stories where everyone comes together to stop a singular threat more powerful than anything they've ever seen before, with everyone equally supportive and kind to one another. Not stories where they act out of character and do stuff they would normally do, betraying all their friends.
@johnsantos5073 ай бұрын
That's the reason why I hate Civil War. I hate seeing heroes fighting each other.
@williamfalls3 ай бұрын
@@johnsantos507 Well, the difference is Civil War wasn't out of character. Iron Man and Captain America has a difference of opinions that lead to two fractions, each hero with their own reason for following one side over the other. These random "what-if" scenarios where heros are scuffling usually start with just one character blatantly turning dark in an out of character manner, like someone snaps and goes crazy and that's why things snowball.
@atilax64523 ай бұрын
They drop to stories where heroes fight each other, because it is easier to get readers involved in the stories. Readers spend time reading books of characters they enjoy. They get to know those characters. Making a connection of sorts. Rarely do the books spend as much time delving into the lives, minds, intentions and history of the villains. You dont get to make the same level of connections with "bad guys". When a reader sees a character they KNOW, fighting another character they KNOW, that reader will be more involved. It's almost like a fight amongst schoolmates, or friends. You FEEL it. When 2 people fight, especially if they were formerlly friends, a darker side of both will emerge. So, it does draw you in. It does hold you there and often, it can be a downer, even when it is exciting.

@@williamfalls I agree. Both Tony and Cap had valid points in their arguments. If Mark Bagley's writing had been more refined, it could have built upon the overall themes of freedom and security. The heartbreaking reality of being a superhero is being held accountable for reckless actions not even caused by them. But with versus battles thrown around for a blood bath because "it's cool." You lose the appeal of what makes these fights engaging in the first place. If there's no point, your just left with a bunch of jerks fighting over something that should've never been a problem in the first place. (Civil War II)

Even in fantasy, basic rules are set in place. A naked Superman can fly but a naked Batman cannot. So when an entire planet (God this is so bad lol) explodes without consequence, even in COMICS, the rules need to be defined to bring the reader back into scope with the medium's universe. Read As: It has to make sense. So if a bomb goes off next to a normal person and yet they are not harmed in any way whatsoever, this makes no sense. It is done to elicit an emotion. Period. Ask low-talent hacks like JarJar Abrahms. They made a career invoking an emotion with ZERO intellectual payoff. Like most modern mediums, storytelling has been reduced to six words: "DUDE! That was so fuckin' cool!" Adult-children trying reeeally hard to capture a visual representation of an emotion - rather than tell a story that has emotional resonance. So logic, reason, physics, gravity, force, momentum are only needed if they CREATE that emotional moment. If they contradict the moment, then they are discarded at the expense of convenience. That is because the absolute goal is: "DUDE! That was so fuckin' cool!" There is an exception: If you happen to be someone who is entertained by someone jangling keys just out of reach...? Then this is top-tier story crafting made for the 'modern audience'. :) Nuthin But Luv

@blackirontarkus31562 ай бұрын
@@JordanDavis-l8f with Omni Man’s statement, it is factual that Invincible will always get stronger until his death, that’s how Viltrumite biology works. Then remember that similar to saiyans, they can get even stronger through training. The reason I believe it’s reasonable to highball a full potential invincible is because he already displayed cosmological feats at a very early age. Being able to fight on the sun is impressive not only due to its heat, but to resist the sheer gravitational pressure of it as well. There’s also the fact that Omni Man when he was way weaker, casually withstood the force of a black hole while being in the ergosphere, which is dangerously close. Invincible could reasonably be black hole level by the time he fought Thragg, meaning he could likely go inside a black hole and escape. Thragg himself stated that it would take him and 37 (fodder) Viltrumites to tear the earth in half. Not destroy it, not blow it up, but to *tear it in half*. That would require a stupid level of strength, meaning each *fodder* Viltrumite is capable of tearing apart 2 moons, and Mark is many leagues above that. My point is that Invincible has serious potential that can be reasonably discussed.

The funny thing about this whole series of errors, is that they have a time gem that can access all of time, and they apparently also know how to access different multiverses as well, so why did none of them go back in time to the original event that started the whole multi-verse snowball rolling, and stop it from starting in the first place, instead of constantly destroying one multiverse after another instead? 🤔 🤨

The contrast between "Everything dies." with monochrome coloring and "Everything lives." with normal coloring is an absolutely fantastic contrast between pessimism and optimism.

It's kind of funny how if the flash was in the marvel multiverse, incursions wouldn't even be a threat of any kind.

Time Runs Out is probably the last good Marvel cross-over event.
