To those who don't know Deacon Blackfire is like a blood brother of Lane/Azrael The point is both want to take over Gotham by serving true justice and power of religion They are blood brothers because in their time took place in The Lady of Gotham - Azrael's final test "Heir to the cowl" Deacon Blackfire "Lamb to the slaughter" Difference between the two is that Azrael wants to complete the mission given by the Order of Saint Dumas to kill the Dark knight in whom he is preventing true justice to be served to Gotham. When Batman is dead, Azrael will be the new Batman protecting Gotham while Blackfire wants to continue with his cults through rituals by serving true justice through the power of religion after Batman will soon be broken and later dead.

My Dad had four really awesome Batman books in his collection when I was younger. He had The Killing Joke, Batman Prey, Batman Gothik and Batman Cult. In these four books you had Joker at his most evil, Hugo Strange at his creepiest, a terrifying villain named Mr Whipser and Deacon Blackfire. after finishing the game, Deacon Blackfire and Jack Ryder are both back in the cage under lady of gotham. it caused a glitch where if i saw them at lady of gotham i couldn't go back to gcpd, instead I would fall through the floor, batmobile and all, and just keep falling, batman wouldn't die and the batmobile wouldn't blow up
