Wonderful! You are right in saying they mainly used the left hand door to enter and exit. But on occasion, particularly in Season 18, the Doctor opened *both* doors, so I'm guessing that's why you have the option of being able to open the right hand one too. Like you, I've always preferred this version of the 80s box, even though its successors up to Season 26 were the same prop modified and refurbished. Thanks for exhibiting the model for us.

There's an exterior publicity shot from State of Decay in woodland, and for years I thought the dark patches were shadows from the leaves. Certainly one of my favourites. Great video, Matt. The only thing missing is Johnny bursting through the door! 😊

Just revisited this thinking to get a 6th -7th doc Tardis kit but for double the price of what it was around 2 years ago I had to think twice. For that price I would be expecting the windows, handles and lantern included. At almost £150 there's most certainly no room for error when it comes to building it.

The reason for the door changing was because on the actual prop both the front and back sides of the box were doors and the lip across the doors was on the opposite door on the rear, the phone panel could pop out and be placed on the other side to use that side as the front for whatever reason.

Great job I have one. Based on later look but back doors are season 18 19 I had help with Clinton Hickman p b props and more research hours than I will admit to some new changeable signs like you Needs a Fresnel I grew up with this one always does get positive reactions The tom looks funny needs bit of work Nice model it's a changer

Now the door thing is an interesting point, I'd read that this tardis had two sets of doors, one front and one back, and the doors at one end had the left door be the main one to open, the other end had the right, for the director of any given story to choose their preference. I may have been misinformed, or misunderstood that, but I'd be interested in whether this was something you were aware of?
