I moved back several years ago from North Dakota. When I was driving down and got to around Arkansas, I knew I was making a mistake. I left after three years; I couldn't take it. I want to say that it was so much better when I was growing up, but I don't think it was. If you don't hunt, drink, or watch football, good luck.

I was actually in Baton Rouge last weekend. Yes it's a city that is high in crime but what major city in America doesn't have high crime. There's good places to go just like there are bad places to go. They have great food and good restaurants. The parades are nice and festive and if your a single man it's crawling with beautiful women everywhere you look. Baton Rouge has a lot to offer if you looking.

The #1 thing about Baton Rouge is SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY....the nation's ONLY Historically Black College and University System. Home to a Great education, exciting Athletics, and the Greatest Marching Band ever created "The Human Jukebox". So I only ask that if you are gonna do a top 10 on Baton Rouge, you get your facts right and include ALL of its Treasures. Thanks!

Magnolia mound 1971... it was 1791. Word has it that the slaves that lived there were actually quite happy and content to have some sort of direction and purpose in their life. Most of the slaves in the South were treated very good and enjoy being slaves. The slavery just got a bad name from the small amount of bad slave owners that mistreated them.

Stay away from Louisiana. There’s really nothing to see here. Not much to do and is HOT as hell in the summer so forget about the outdoors. When you can be outdoors you get eaten by mosquitoes. Not to mention how rude some people can be in customer service, specially in New Orleans and Baton Rouge. I cannot wait to retire and move out of here.
