I've worked 12 hours per day as a contractor for 30 years, and I have no pension! I've scratched and clawed along with some good decision making to buy my first home 25 years ago. 6 years ago I took out equity to buy a rental property. The government even controls how much rent I can charge on that despite skyrocketing costs. This is ridiculous! I don't have a pension. My residence, and my rental property are my pension, as I'm self employed. If my primary residence is taxed, I will be packing my bags and leaving this country. JT is the enemy! Already started offloading my assets in Canada, it's hard though... as much as they say there's demand for housing, they cut off borrowing to most people effectively ending all demand. List a house and see, there's no showings in many places. Builders are sitting on thousands of Residential Lots they can't sell or build. Economy is dead, those working in the government don't know it yet. The makers are preparing to leave, when the trough feeders are all that's left they'll quickly run out of money and need a new currency. Probably the plan...

As an Architect whose worked in several different countries, I have never seen a jurisdiction that makes it harder to get permits for building new homes than present day Ontario. I didn’t get my home until I was 42. Not everyone who belongs to a specific age group had an easy way. Generation squeeze. This so called generation is the one where many grew up in well off enough homes with parents who can assist them. Of course many do not fit in that group and it saddens me. But blame the elitists for allowing our economy and housing and renting issues. So tax them more. I should be retired but I’m still working paying my mortgage and trying to buy a new used car to replace a 23 year old car. I will have a pension but it’s not the same as working. Our homes require maintenance and renovations all of which cost a lot of money. Our property taxes are crazy enough. I’m so sick of the elites.

EFF that! These guys are relentless with their taxes! They frivolously spend our tax dollars while not taking care of the important aspects like healthcare and infrastructure like highways etc. they instead spend it on their friends funneling money to get their buddies rich and taking extravagant vacations. Spending 200k to move someone from TO to Ottawa, or spending 220k on airplane food alone while we have more and more people with no place to live. So yeah let’s punish those who did get into the housing market when they were young. Seriously enough!!! How the hell can we fire all of these people!!! This has to stop. We cannot handle any more taxes. Carbon Tax, Steaming Tax, Income Tax, Capitol Gains Tax. Our property taxes have increased due to out of control inflation as well. When does it end. We are all hurting. We are being punished for being successful and working hard. I should be farther ahead financially at this point in my life and this government has stolen this from us all. As my children become young adults, they have no chance of being successful out on their own. I am tired of this inadequately educated government thinking they have "more work to do" and they now "hear Canadians" Tone deaf for 9 years and it just keeps getting worse. They inherited a balanced budget from Stephen Harper and have driven this country to the brink of collapse. This will take decades to recover from and yet no Liberal can look around and see what they have done and honestly admit their lack of operating a proper government. I used to love this country. I didn't hang my flag on Canada day because it doesn't feel like Canada anymore.
