I have IDX v mounts for my older JVC shoulder camcorder hd-110. Works great. Now moved it to led lights. They are useful and even 20 years old and abused work well. Though large and heavy. I assume the new smaller ones are better. Probably a good choice for my bmpcc4k. I tried the 2 Sony FP what ever to power the bmpcc4k and if amperage dropped at all it would power off. B mount probably had enough amperage. But decided to keep BM light and just carry 6-12 batteries with me in my jacket.

CASEY! If you didn't already do this, you need to either set the colour space in the timeline to HLG (Rec 2100) or do a colour transform from Rec 2100 to Rec 709, both gamet and colour space (or what ever you fancy). I learnt this with my GH5, and it bought it new life!

imagine if you realise powerbanks with 100W USB PD output exist. For me a multifunction powerbank including wireless charging for the phone with 30Wh and a „big“ 100Wh powerbank with 2x USB-C (1x65W 20V 3A or 2x 30W 15V 2A) and 2x USB A output are more than enough. I even power my MacBook Pro with its 99Wh battery to basically double the battery runtime (6-8 hours straight doing AI video upscaling) V mount might be interesting for people with the cameras and „rigs“ wher they serve its meant purpose

Have you run into any issues using the V mount battery to run both your camera and external monitor at the same time? People have told me that you want to run them separately or have the v mount run only one cause you could essentially short circuit or fry your camera

@@Samiam-mu5ln V-Mounts are meant to power rigs with multiple devices. I do it all the time. It's mostly a grounding issue and it's pretty easy to circumvent. The V-Mount should be the last piece you connect. So any HDMI or other cables between the different devices should be connected before you plug in the battery. This way they have a common ground and nothing should happen.

The only problem with lithium ion batteries are planes theres a max size you can take on a flight but perhaps worse is the this cannot be delivered to your address because they are paranoid about the battery catching fire in the cargo hold. ok it has happened before but maybe the most annoying thing about Amazon is getting a battery from the UK to Ireland. The multi pin connector is used for charging or a battery plate which may have another dtap and maybe usb A and C ports and the 12volt and 8.4 volt jacks 5525 and 5521 or 5.5mm with a 2.5mm centre connection (12 volt) or 5521 5.5mm with a 2.1mm centre usually for 8volt or 5volt the idea being you don't connect 12volt power to something wanting 8 volts but in practice it can be they use the wrong sockets anyway.

I fly with them all the time, you just have to carry them with you inside the cabin. Never a problem. They just ask you here and there what it is and that's it. Just say I am a pro filmmaker or something and they let it pass.

Kasey the weights quoted may be for uncharged units. Everyone knows that the stored electrons are fairly heavy, so if you weighed them while they were charged this would explain the discrepancy. Does anybode have expirience with the sony 35mm f2.8 zeiss lens? I cant decide if i want to buy the 28mm f2 or this zeiss. I dont want to buy both becouse im cheap hobo. I have an m42 mout 28mm lens and i really enjoy it but it is not sharp. Is the "zaiss" look worth it for the smaller fov and worse aperature? I can get the zeiss for like 200$ and the 28 for like 155$.

My personal experience of carrying the 190Wh v-mount battery bank in my carry-on even inside the US was never an issue. But never take it away or ask for anything more.
