Battersea funfair

The promised land, which we visited on several occasions in the last years of the huge permanent funfair in Battersea Park, previously the Pleasure Gardens of the great 1951 Festival of Britain. My memories of this place are of sheer wonder and excitement. Among our favorite attractions, The Treetop Walk, the Water Chute, the giant Helter Skelter, and best of all for me, the Schweppes Grotto of the Four Winds.
