Battery-electric buses and on-route charger testing begins

A milestone for both the Nova Bus LFSe and New Flyer Xcelsior CHARGE buses: testing’s now underway with the on-route charger at 22nd Street Station’s bus exchange! Our manufacturers are testing the new battery-electric buses in preparation for delivery to TransLink and Coast Mountain Bus Company for acceptance into our fleet. #TransLinkTomorrow

What about if it is raining or if the charging area is wet?

It won't be an issue. The pantograph (what drops down to charge the bus) operates similar to other catenary charging systems like trolleybuses which can safely operate in the rain. ^at
