After prolonged use in dry conditions this Stihl battery strimmer just wouldn’t work, luckily it was an easy fix that could apply to any make of battery equipment.
Thanks for supporting the channel.

Thank you man! Just repaired my Stihl FSA 57 from battery stutter with just some canned air and a whiff of WD40. In those models the motor is on the mowing head-side though. It's just a small electromotor and some gears, so any dust or sand make it too hard for the motor.

Sometimes it's just a simple fix and crap on the motor or connections can definitely stop them. Glad you're up and running 👍👍

It’s great how a bit of lube makes a difference… As regards suppliers of our beloved tools ⚒️ they seem to shirk any warranty work in favour of blaming the user .. Weather has been great and managed to catch up after the crap start to the season ..

Catching up on work👌 maybe advice on how we might just get going again easily would be an idea, try blasting it would WD40 might help and cause no damage if not rather than drop it in and we'll look at it at some point 😅 A good relationship with dealers is crucial if you can achieve that sometimes

I wouldn't be without it, I guess some will have bad experience with it but that strimmer is now 3 years old and has been great. Troubleshooting for me is just anything obvious I can find😬 had to use echo petrol strimmer the day it wasn't working and had forgotten how much 2 stroke they get through 🤔 hope you're not working all weekend....have a good one🍻

Give me an engine any day and I'll completely strip it and rebuild it, normally do a chainsaw or strimmer engine at the weekend. Been doing accounts, not cut a lawn for 8 weeks and everywhere is completely dead here so probably won't be for another 8! How did you get on with the gluing the magnets on, hold out?
@LewisgardenservicesLtd
@LewisgardenservicesLtd 2 жыл бұрын
I think if you've the skills to rebuild and enjoy using the petrol machines you definitely have no reason to make the swap to battery, I went to is for selfish reasons as I was falling apart with the weight and vibs off petrol. Glue them? I just pulled the crap ones out and carried on😅

@@LewisgardenservicesLtd I do enjoy rebuilding and running 2 strokes alot, don't always enjoy the emissions tho especially the HL75 hedge trimming. Just rebuilt a couple Stihl 94's so probably put 1 on as far better on emissions especially being a bad asthmatic!🤣 I remember you had loose magnets but forgot you ditched them, figured it wouldn't work properly with out them! 👍👌

If you've nothing to lose and it's not working carefully take it apart and look for anything obvious. Look/ corroded connections and debris in motor/ switches. Anymore more complicated is out of my league. Good luck and cheers 👍

@@LewisgardenservicesLtd Tried that. The only place I cannot get into is motor housing as the screw has corroded over time and I can't get it out. If the motor has burnt out ( it never smelt as though it had though) so it's uneconomical to get it fixed. Thanks for trying to help.

@@LewisgardenservicesLtdthat's what I'm hearing from a lot of guys - the battery kit is giving them more years in the game , especially the older guys. @@LewisgardenservicesLtd they say it only costs pennies to charge a battery. The initial investment is big there's no denying that , but as you've just said you do claw it back over time and then start to make a saving. Oh yes you seem like you've many years of service given to this trade , it wrecks your body no doubt about that. Can only work smarter from here on.
