The model is a Select, not Premium 😊. The difference is also the button on the lights panel for foggy/snowy/rainy weather. There is a extra feature when it haves the matrix headlights. The button is the SOS 😋

In Finland the Explorer is slightly more expensive than Id.4, but cheaper than Enyaq. And smaller than either Id.4 or Enyaq. I think the Explorer is closer to the Skoda Elroq sizewise, but more expensive than it. The Explorer is a bit oddly sized imo. Ford Capri on the other hand is like Id.5 and Enyaq Coupe, or Cupra Tavascan in size.

What about regeneration, are there levels of regeneration? When you let go of the accelerator, does it come to a complete stop ?

nope no MEB platforms come to a full stop and there are one level of regeneration.

@PierreSimonsson Thanks, however I know that ID4/5 has the B setting which set the regeneration to a higher level. Do not know if that is true for the other MEB cars and I also do not know if the Explorer has that feature. I however also believe that the B setting needs to be set every time you drive, it cannot be set as the default, but I am not sure

I think its all reskinned VW. I drove one and it’s too much of a VW but drives pretty good. It’s confusing as its really similar to a Mach-E

@@simplygregsterevNaah it's not. It's Ford sync move. A upgraded sync "5" system. So it have nothing to do with Vw on that point.

When I test drove the Explorer I was underwhelmed, it was ok but for the premium price I was not seeing a premium product. I am looking at the lease deals and at the time it was more expensive than the ID7 Tourer, Enyaq and Hyundai's all of which were better packaged and experiences. I was also not particularly impressed with its efficiency when I was driving it and found the WLTP to be on the far more optimistic side than most EVs

It just about looks, and some minor details. Explorer looks better outside, but I like ID4 more inside.

In the UK it is about £1,400 more than the ID4 but it a higher spec. The UK ID4 is pretty basic. The Enyaq is both the highest spec and the cheapest. I would choose the Skoda as it is the best value and has the best interior.

in that range you should go for the BYD Sealion, Xpeng G6 or model Y. Well maybe not the Y now Musk turned into a right wing nut job. If you want to keep it European go for the Renault Scenic.

One thing Explorer has over iD4 is the way better interior. Interior in iD4 (and 3) looks very basic. Enyaq and Explorer are way better.

I test drove a lot of EV's in 2024 in a rnage of styles, models and manufacturers with the aim of switching in 2025 to an EV. Of all the cars I tested only 3 were a total 'no' straight away with no regrets, The Explorer (price, range and generally uninspiring ride), The Kona Electric as not being big enough for a family car especially in the back seats and the BYD Seal as having a boot so small and poorly designed you could not get as much in it as a small ICE hatchback.
