My estimate...at least 345 km with 110.km/h. Some 380 with 100 km/h. (same temp, wind and route and that 274 range is correct at those 130 km/h). But it is dangerous t asume that 11% is really 11 %. Also ...most EV cars will go to turtle mode when they come below somewhere near 5%.. Safe range should be 330 with 110 and 360 with 100 km/h. (And I cannot use such a car....I need 360 km range in winter (with 100 km/h because that's the maximum allowed speed where I live). Because the economics for any EV only work if most charging is done at home and I regularly drive 360-370 km on a day.

@@reiniernn9071 The problem with EV's, is when you take a family + luggage the situation turn to a new story!!! you will not do a 120Km at that speed, maybe 150 at 110km/h, what is ultra bad... I believe that it's a city car, not a highway traveler!!
@reiniernn9071
@reiniernn9071 7 ай бұрын
@@Maximius38 The range from an ev does not change much if you load the car with family and luggage. Weight is not very important for energy usage. The drag of the car is most important for energy usage. It is possible (depending on which car) that a fully loaded car uses less energy because the drag reduces a little when the car gets lower to the ground due to the extra weight. If you mean driving with a luggage trailer. In europe we have lower speed limits with trailer than without. When I drive with my 750 kg trailer (heught 171 cm) the energy usage / km is the same or lower as with driving without that trailer . Speed limit with trailer 80 km/h (driving between 85 and 90 km/) without 125 km/h My experiences contradict your comment.

We live in France and have had a Kia e-Niro since March 2019, one of the first off the boat here. We love the car and after 65,000 km it hasn’t put a foot wrong. The Renault looks to be a step up in ride comfort, quiet cruising, infotainment system and the all round quality is something every reviewer comments on...but we won’t be swapping out the Kia which has a better loading setup and more back seat room. The Megane looks great though and we are looking forward to seeing them on the roads here...after all the French love their Renaults

Forgot to say thanks.... your reviews are much appreciated, really enjoy the 130 km/h test...a speed I rarely do, I must be getting old! Looking forward to the comparison with ID3, most journalists think Renault have a real winner here saying the design, quality and the driving experience are better than the VW. I think some shocks are coming to the established car makers in Europe, most especially to Germany, the country is so steeped in engineering excellence of the ICE sort...which is rapidly becoming irrelevant. Some of the Chinese offerings are impressive and keenly priced. We live in interesting times.

@@lendios764 I saw the hybrid version at my dealer in Niort a couple of months ago, the don’t get the EV until September. I will have a test drive but I am not in the market for a new car now, perhaps never will be. The new one is slightly bigger and has the ability to tow, which would be useful for us but I wouldn’t break the bank over getting one. For me it would have to be a step-up in charging speed, the range is fine but they missed an opportunity to lift the charging speeds to be at least competitive with the ID3 and Megan (130 KW). Having done a 1,100 km run to Frankfurt last winter it would have been useful to shave 10-15 minutes off charging stops.

Do you know any tricks (replace the sound file,...)? 2) Can you save recuperation level & drive mode to your profile? When I switch the car on, I’d like to have sport/max recuperation. 3) Is Waze available in the store to execute natively in the car (I don’t mean by wireless Android auto, this is working, tested myself)? If not, do you have any info about it? Do you have a way to find out? 4) Do you have any info about SW updates? a) How frequent customers can expect (does it depend on Google or Renault)? b) Can they update Firmware in all chips just as Tesla or is it just infotainment? 5) Could you practically test if you can turn on heating, heated seats/steering wheel while connected to AC & DC charger (current issue with Zoe, even the latest ZE50). DC is actually better, no need for inverter. The impact on battery life is repeating full charges at very high current. If you don't charge to 100 nor use ultra fast chargers, impact on battery will be small. You get no benefits from charging AC, unless you have more stalls of that available

@@FernandoMiguel I don't think so, the fast DC charging could be much more worse, than the AC charging, and with this base range (more than 400km in eco) with a short stop you can get + 1/3 distance (~ 600 km). While the price can be lower.

Danke! But could we have efficiency expressed in miles per kwh, please? My Renault Zoe does 4.8 miles/kwh for local non- motorway trips in the summer, but this drops to 3.1 on the motorway travelling at 70mph. (51kwh battery).

Very Poor range from a combustion owner perspective 170 miles range in perfect condition s however in reality you won't get 120 miles 1-no one drives to 0% 2- most people won't charge to 100% it takes almost 2 hours even in. Fast charger 3- hardly no heater nor Ac on 4- add cold weather and charge cost substantially increased because here in UK it costs £47 around 55 euros for a full charge using public charger now imagine only getting 120 to 150 miles that's terrible 😳 that's bankruptcy 🤦🤦

Im waiting for this car tome come in my company for drivin. In my opinion too big wheels are on that E-Megane and draining battery 20% more than should be... We are ask Renault for smaller wheels and we will receive 18" version, that is the lowest they producing for that model of car. Right now im driving Hyundai Kona Electric and i cannot skeep 250 km city driving even last couple of days and weather condition are between 25-30° perfect for battery. In my opinion car is too agressive even in ECO "slowest" mode. Also we have a year old Renault Zoe who have same engine, power and battery capacity like Kona and is able to skeep 320+km city driving range easy, sometimes show me 400km but reallity about 300-350 depends of driving. Hyundai is not close to that... If you turn ON air condition you lost 50km of driving, in Zoe is not konected to battery and you can drive eich your climate all day without losing range. 👏🏻 Yes, Kona is almost 300kg havier, 17" wheels, but Zoe is also 1.500kg like some normal wagoon car 😀 and 16" wheel size. Hope this car will skeep around 400km, that is what we need. We have one Kona 150kw power (210 hp) and range on that car is easy 400+km, around 450 without problem, but other two Kona's are not even to 280 close. In winter in my experience we lost about 70-90km range, depends of temperature.

Much quieter inside than Kona. Less power than Kona felt. Great quality and better looks than Kona. Very, very safe and very good looking car. But there should have been 63 kwh instead of just 60. And why is there less "punch" than in a Kona?

Iron nitride magnets can drastically improve the entire EV market for every make and model with smaller lighter motors without sacrificing power. Iron nitride magnets do not use rare earth metals which means no bad PR from environmental impacts and no bad PR from national security issues and they cost less than neodymium to boot. Do some research Niron Magnetics is making them let's get a revolution in EVs kicked off.

Mmm - I think the range sounds pretty poor for a new 60kwh car - not even that big. I would have expected 390-400km no? Normally on these runs there is some deep diagnosis and criticism of the sat nav and screen usability generally, I think this car got let off lightly.....

Only car under 70.000 euro that can drive 400km at 130km/hour is the Tesla Model 3 Long Range. Even the Ford Mustang Mach E Long Range which has 610 km WLTP drops off a lot from 110km/hour to 130 km/hour mark. EDIT: 110km/hour is a different story. Many can go 400+ then.

@@BatteryLife Agreed - Thats why these reviews at 130km are so damaging for EV building reputation. There is insufficient comment regarding the vehicles real range capability. Its not that your test at 130 should not be done of course, but proper recognition should be made that the car would or could achieve so much more if driven at more economic speed (like 90 for instance, the previously internationally recognised best compromise speed)

@@GHOOGLEMALE Thing is, here in Denmark you can drive 130km/hr on the highway, which is why it's very very relevant to us. My wife has 96km to her work place, and has about 90% of that route on 130km/hr roads. So when she gets home, and we want to visit family which lives about an hour away, we want a car that can do 400km at 130km/hour. That is exactly why we chose the Model 3 Long Range over 3-4 other cars. We will choose another car as car #2 in a few years when our diesel renault dies, and have other needs for that car. There are plenty of reviews/test showing 90km/hr etc, so seeing 130km/hr tests is very nice for some of us.

The amount of energy necessary to move this 2+ ton vehicle is many times that of a much lighter IC-vehicle which needs a lot less power than this behemoth. My company have 3 Kona' one im driving afther a year wich ZOE. My Kona have same engine like ZOE but is 300kg havier, and ZOE have about 50-80km more range these days when temepratures eas around 30° I dont know on winter but i know ZOE lost about 50km range. Now when im drivig Kona last 10 days i see in setting it has some battery option for winter but says that decreasing range, didnt test yet. Also Kona air condition is connected sadly to battery and you will lost 50km when is turned ON, on ZOE is individual. Both cars are low build quality but ZOE have much better interior quallity stuff than Kona. Also we have one Kona wich better engine and 220hp power, and that Kona have much more range. I was drive that car for 2 days, about 350+ km and im back to my job wich 25% battery left.
