Skoda Enyaq vs VW Id.4 - Differences

It's rare to have the Enyaq fully equipped, the tinted glass doors in the back, the sleeping head rests, the roof, the 21" wheels, the hook, the laser lights, the hud, the grid in the back, both electric seats, heating seats, heating wheel, ... There is so many damn options... (see my lengthy comment ~24h ago). The rear wheel based vehicules also have an amzingly short turn radius, which is very convenient with such a large and long car.

Other than the ID.4 the Enyaq doesn’t have a plain panoramic roof but a large roof window that can be opened. In the ID.4 you can’t open it.

The Enyaq does come with augmented reality HUD, but it is an optional extra. We've had the car since June, and are really happy with it. We did not go for HUD, but we have tested it, and it should be virtually identical to the one in ID4.

I ordered my enyaq a few days ago with HUD. Delivery time to switzerland is about 5 months due to chip shortage. HUD is the reason why it takes longer according to my sales guy. Perhaps this is why the press car came without it....

There are some things in the ID that I would want in the Skoda and vice versa, but my taste is the Enyak’s styling.

You can have the same stuff on both normally. Except the shape, design and space obviously. But they are really very similar cars. If you need space however, the Enyaq is a clear winner both inside and in trunk. It is a slightly bigger car... If you take the propulsion only version, you will also get a very very tight turning radius, smaller than small ICE cars. Very convenient.

I have 3 kiddos and the space between each door and the trunk space is mostly why we got the Enyaq iV 80, and we got it with the panoramic roof, the heads up display, etc. So I almost never look at the smaller one. Also note, park is not required, you break you are on auto hold, you open the door it puts itself on park and then shuts down when you get up. Concerning the sunshades on the enyaq that is an option. Family something... something... The problem with the Skoda is that everything is an option. -_-' I've most options as I took the car for the reseller as is, but 21" wheels is quite ridiculously useless for example. Concerning AndroidAuto it depends on the pixel density of the screen. If you click on the album playing for example, your music will be centered (main part) and the map will go left or any other AndroidAuto app. (Yes, the ID4 screen is smaller) TLDR: everything you have on one, you can have on the other as far as I know. It's just that on the Enyaq everything is inside an option pack. And also the option packs are different depending on the country you live on. For example: heat pump is NOT an option in the DACH region models as far as I know, certainly because it makes so much sense with the temps we live in.

Compared to the sub Dacia ID.4 interior the Skoda enyaq is a Rolls Royce. So easy to choose :-)

Sorry to be picky but the enyaq has 2 LED down lights in the hatchback that light the whole boot area as well as the small inside light. Also the armrest in the front is adjustable as well as hiding a rather large storage area.

The ID4 has a more pleasing contour without the rumpish flanks. Who needs a plastic grill tray in the nose? A design choice afraid of the ice transition.

In my ID4 when I want to decrease distance I just hit the follow distance button, then the minus. Though it will cycle through when you hit the follow distance button. 🤷‍♂️ US model Pro S AWD 😸

The Enyaq interior is generally better. BUT when I spec'd the ID4 GTX it was £5k less than the similar spec Enyaq. So you do pay a lot more for that nicer interior.

If you want to decrease the set speed of the cruise control by 1 you simply have to press the set button once again.

In Enyaq you need shutdown car from button in steering column. In ID that feature is in park button.

You don't need to. You simply get to a full stop (by pressing the break pedal), the car then is now on "Auto Hold" (it doesn't move anymore). You open your door or you raise your but from the seat, and it's in park position by itself. No need to do anything. Same to start driving, get in, press the break pedal and and choose your gear (D/B, R) and go.
