Filtering only removes large particulates. Purification kills off microorganisms. You're still gonna want to boil the filtered stuff or use a WP tablet.

While you aren't wrong about the difference between filtering & purifying, many of the new advanced system will filter particulates and microorganisms with much smaller micron filters. Some of the better ones will eliminate up to 99.9% of pathogens which is equivalent to boiling.

This knife has a design from Russian custom knife maker Ivan Kremenetsky and it's the second time Revolt used his design, last was that Rotor model, one where lock was based on G10 scales used as springs. And last time they haven't mentioned him as a designer for a knife so it's still an open question if those designs were obtained legally.

Thanks I got tacpack+ and was looking for another box to round it up to the 200 to 250 bucks a month range and these battlebox reviews have convinced me to go a diffrent way.so thanks and keep up the good content.

LEDLenser (The Lantern) is quite a well known brand in the UK, I've owned a couple of their touches over the years before I moved to Olight and they have always been excellent for durability and quality. Having just compared the specs, it also appears to be on par with the olight lantern over here with more light for slightly less run time and both cost £80.

The only thing I like in this box is the knife. What is up with Battle Box because I saw a ad for them yesturday and they said their was awesome stuff in the boxes. They was showing realy cool this like differnet electronics of all sorts and great off grid things.

One of the worst boxes put out by Battlbox, IMHO. The fact that they put the emergency blanket in the Advanced level furiates me. I completely understand having issues with the supply chain, but this box was just stupid. The lantern looks decent but not sure about the $80 price tag. Everything else is just MEH. I "almost" signed back up for the November and December boxes due to everyone mentioning those boxes in the past have generally been the best. Holy crap I'm glad I didn't. Great video as always, Doc. Thanks for sharing and keep up the excellent work, brother. 👊

I have a super similar knife to the one you used for unboxing. The thing came so fucking stiff. First time I closed it, I cut a huge chunk out of my knuckle. Once it actually loosened up, it became one my favorite edc thus far.

pretty sure you got that firstline oil pen in a tacpack, i do remember you put some of the oil on a knife blade and pivot. that lantern seems pretty nice but ABSOLUTELY NOT for $80.... you can get an olight or hybrid light for $40 to $60. kotm seems like a decent collector type knife just simply because it is different, but i would never carry it for sure with a locking system like that. and i would even go so far to say that an emergency blanket in even the basic box is BULLSH*T

Wow. It is amazing how bad these boxes have become especially since they increased prices a while back unless you stayed subscribed. The only nice items are the lantern and the Dura Derm. I keep hoping Battlbox will get their shit together but doesn't look like that is happening anytime soon...

I get a couple other boxes and some of the knives are just flea market trash, Reel to Steel was real bad. But you figure at least 1 knife a month and some times 2 or 3. Thats a lot of knives every year. And cheapo Space blankets, got lots. Glad I did not subscribe to BB nothing here I would use.

Way overpriced, and only a few items I would use. The knife is something i would never buy myself, not into gimmicky stuff, not to mention i could see myself getting a finger caught in it at some point. The light =ok but better options maybe, liquid bandage =great first aid, water filter =good survival but needs container, oil pen =good for squeaks, survival blanket =in every vehicle dollar store, water spigot = useless without specific container. Everything useful in a way but I hate it when you have to buy extra accessories. Mostly agree on your assessment of stuff. Keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable
